Bientôt un DVD pour ce groupe culte israélien
Israeli death metallers SALEM have had the footage from their "Live Demise" DVD purchased by Hot, Israel's cable TV, and made available on the V.O.D. channel. According to a posting on the band's web site, "SALEM is up there along with some big mainstream names like PHIL COLLINS, STING, THE WHO etc., so we feel very accomplished and wishes to send our gratitude to all parties involved in making this happen. Especially, Haim Gozaly and Master Disk, who are also responsible for the 'Live Demise' DVD experience."
"Live Demise" features a full-length concert filmed on July 9, 2003 at Barbie in Tel Aviv (presented in 5.1, 2.0 and DTS mixes), seven promotional videos ("Act of War", "Al Taster", "Broken yet United", "Fear of the Future", "Ha'ayara Bo'eret", "Masquerade in Claustrophobia" and "Slave"), "making of" footage of both "Collective Demise" and "Live Demise", various outtakes, and a 12-page, full-color booklet.
SALEM's latest album, "Strings Attached", was released in Israel in June 2005. The CD contains songs from the band's past repertoire and one brand new song, all re-arranged and performed with one of the most respected all-girl string quartets in Israel. Also featured on the CD are a remake of the SALEM classic "Old Wounds", featuring guest appearances by the lead vocalists of ETERNAL GRAY, ARALLU, BARTHOLOMEUS NIGHT, MOONSKIN, LEHAVOTH, MATRICIDE, SPAWN OF EVIL, SOLITARY and HANGMAN.

Ainsi qu'un nouvel album, sur lequel figure une reprise d'un classique de... Bob Marley.

"Playing God And Other Short Stories", the seventh full-length album from Israeli extreme metallers SALEM, is available for streaming in its entirety at AOL Music. The CD, which will be released later in the year via Pulverised Records, was recorded at Harold Studios in Israel and was mastered by UE Nastasi at Sterling Sound in New York City.
"Playing God And Other Short Stories" features a guest appearance by AT THE GATES frontman Tomas Lindberg, who shares vocal duties on "The Mark Of The Beast Part 1" and sings exclusively on "The Mark Of The Beast Part 2". The album also includes SALEM's unique cover version of one of Bob Marley's most recognizable songs — "Exodus".
"Playing God And Other Short Stories" track listing:
01. Drums Of The Dead Part 1
02. Drums Of The Dead Part 2
03. The Privileged Dead
04. Exodus (BOB MARLEY cover)
05. Downfall Of Paris Part 1
06. Downfall Of Paris Part 2
07. The Mark Of The Beast Part 1 (feat. Tomas Lindberg)
08. Beast Lullaby
09. The Mark Of The Beast Part 2 (feat. Tomas Lindberg)
10. The Mark Of The Beast Part 3
11. I Hate Pigs!
12. Playing God
Regarding the album artwork for "Playing God And Other Short Stories" (see below), SALEM drummer Nir Nakav states, "The cover is based around Adinkra, a West African symbol system. The symbol we used is called Gye Nyame and it means 'except for God.' This unique and beautiful symbol is ubiquitous in Ghana. It is by far the most popular for use in decoration and also a reflection on the deeply religious character of the Ghanaian people."
