Cet excellent groupe originaire des îles Féroé vient de signer un deal avec Napalm Records

After 1 and a half years of negotiations, Týr signd a worldwide deal with
Napalm Records in Austria 3 albums, and a re-release of 'Eric The Red' to be released in March. It will also include previously unreleased material and the videos 'Regin Smiður' and 'Hail To The Hammer'. The next full lenght album will be released in September.

Týr sign a worldwide booking deal (excluding the Faeroes) with L!sten Up
Artist Management and Booking in Austria. Two tours are already planned; one in July/August to follow the re-release of 'Eric The Red' and one in September to follow the release of the third full length album from Týr.
Both tours will include Germany, Austria and Switzerland and the latter tour will include many more countries to be announced later.

Faroe Islands metallers TYR will release their third album, "Ragnarok", in Europe on September 25 via Napalm Records (October 10 in the U.S.). The follow-up to 2003's "Eric the Red" was recorded at Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark and contains "more of the same, only better," according to the band.

TYR's sophomore album, "Eric the Red", received a "proper" release earlier this year via Napalm Records. The CD was originally issued three years ago via a record company known as Tutl. The new version of the album contains two bonus tracks

TYR will be teaming up with DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER and HÄMATOM for a European tour beginning on September 6 in Berlin, Germany. A complete list of tour dates can be found at Tyr.net.

Le groupe des îles Féroë entrera en studio en décembre pour son quatrième album

Faroe Islands metallers TÝR have issued the following update:

"TÝR will go into Jacob Hansen's [RAUNCHY, ROB ROCK, HATESPHERE, MERCENARY] studio in in December to record their fourth full-length album, due to be released by Napalm Records in April or May 2008. TÝR's preceding two albums, 'Ragnarok' and 'Eric the Red', [were] recorded at Jacob Hansen's studio. It is situated in Ribe on the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. Ribe is one of the oldest known large and organized viking settlements in Scandinavia, so it's only very fitting that TÝR record their albums there. The cooperation between TÝR and Jacob Hansen have been most appreciated by all parts involved so the decision for TÝR to continue recording at Jacob Hansen's studio was not a hard one."

TÝR's third album, "Ragnarok", was released in Europe in September 2006 via Napalm Records.

Faroe Islands metallers TÝR have set "Land" as the title of their fourth full-length album, due on May 8 via Napalm Records. According to the band, the follow-up to 2006's "Ragnarok" "contains mostly Faeroese, but also Icelandic and Norwegian traditionals, re-arranged into heavy metal. Déjà 7 albums venus des îles Féroé.

"Valkyrja", the seventh full-length album from the Faroe Islands natives TÝR, will be released on September 17 (one day earlier internationally) via Metal Blade Records.

TÝR once again collaborated with Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark. Along with Hansen, the band recruited acclaimed drummer George Kollias to act as studio drummer and LEAVES' EYES vocalist Liv Kristine joined vocalist/guitarist Heri Joensen for a vocal duet on "The Lay of Our Love".

Limited-edition pre-order bundles are available that include TÝR rune pendants, t-shirt, vinyl LP, and the CD.

The opening track to the album, "Blood Of Heroes", is streaming now below.

"Valkyrja" is a concept album with a story line based loosely around an anonymous Viking age warrior who leaves his woman and goes off to impress the Valkyrie on the battlefield so that she may bring him to Valhalla, or to Fólkvangr, the home of Freyja — the goddess associated with love, sexuality, beauty, fertility, gold, sorcery, war, and death. One can say the album is also indirectly about women and how they affect men and what men will do to impress and obtain women.

Comments Joensen: "The woman that the warrior leaves may represent the earthly women. Freyja, The Lady Of The Slain, may represent the perfection of Women, and the Valkyrie is the link between the two, taking men from earthly to godly women."

After the end of a very successful World Tour off Satyricon's latest record Deep Calleth Upon Deep the time has come for me to call it for a change and look for new adventures with my friends at Týr. We'll be hitting the road together in South America in October/2018.

This is it. I am now officially leaving the band TÝR after 17 years. After months of thinking this through carefully, I’ve finally come to the decision that it’s time for me to quit.
The reason is very simple: I have no desire whatsoever to play in TÝR anymore.
There’s no drama or anything going on between me and the others. It’s just me not having any joy to play the music in the style of TÝR anymore.
I want to thank Heri Joensen and Gunnar Thomsen for the all the time we had and I wish TÝR all the best in the future.
And thanks to all the fans for the support through the years.
My last show with Týr will be at Sabaton open air in August.
More news to follow soon about my future projects.
