Même avis que Gandalf ! Sauf que j'ai voté pour "ROCKS" qui fut pour eux le disque de la consécration. A leurs débuts, c'était un groupe aux abois, on sentait la hargne de réussir (Ahh..ces hurlements de chien efflanqué de Steven TYLER !).
Sinon, j'ai capitulé pour "9 Lives", où là, ils étaient vraiment tombés sur un filon commercial. Rien à voir avec le super-groupe que j'aimais. D'ailleurs, je sentais le vent venir quand ils ont sorti "Cryin'" ( beeuuaah!). La même chose est arrivée aux SCORPS, si venimeux au début ! Et puis, il y a eu le filon $$$ des ballades...

Ahhh, les hurlements de TYLER sur "I'm baaaaaack! Back in the saddle again!!!" et il y en a plein d'autres comme ça! La fin totalement hystérique du morceau "Draw the line" !!! Plein de joyaux (rocks) dans plein d'albums.

Nine Lives, d'ailleurs, c'est le seul "vrai" album de ce groupe de Boston que j'ai...ils ne m'ont jamais vraiment plu, mais, ma mère, elle, en est raide dingue, surtout de Steven Tyler...

Je vote pour Toys in the Attic, parce que dessus y'a Sweet Emotion et que c'est tout simplement mon morceau préféré d'Aerosmith

Tyler: The best would have to be "Toys in the Attic" (1975) or "Rocks" (1976). Then again "Pump" (1989) is pretty amazing. There's a few AEROSMITH albums I choose not to remember anymore. But the worst would have to be one of those many "Greatest Hits" that the record company put out in the '90s without our permission when we should have had our eyes on the ball but were, ahem, otherwise occupied.

Perry: For me, the worst ever was "Done with Mirrors" (1985). At that time, we were trying to make an album that was a bit like the old AEROSMITH and a bit like where we wanted to be heading. Those songs weren't completely lacking in inspiration, but little of it added up. That has to be our weakest record. Our strongest has to be "Get a Grip" (1993). It feels like a point of culmination that record, where we realized our potential and brought it right up front. I'm not surprised that songs like "Eat the Rich" and "Livin' on the Edge" have survived the test of time.

Nine Lives c'est pas mal, même si ça sent un peu trop l'Amerqiue, en tout cas la tournée était monstrueuse !!!

Steven Tyler explique comment lui est venu l'idée de toujours attacher une écharpe autour de son pied de micro

According to Tyler, it started as an accident. "Very early on," he tells Blender, "I had a favorite macramé shirt that I wore onstage all the time and an Indian scarf in my hair. The shirt and scarf got worn out and torn off me eventually," he says, but rather than throw them out, Tyler "hung them on the mic-stand for good luck. Must be the gypsy in me." The look stuck, and it's now one of his trademarks.

Interestingly, in addition to looking cool, the scarves doubled as a makeshift medicine cabinet. "Some of them had little pockets sewn in," Tyler said in the band's 2003 autobiography, "and I'd weight them with Quaaludes and Tuinals. That way I wouldn't run out."

J'ai voté pour le 1er album, Mama Kin et Dream On déchirent tout dessus, si ils avaient pû mettre Train Kept a Rollin' en plus ça aurait été le panard

Bon, ben vu que je vais Aerosmither un peu cet été, je vais essayer de bachoter un peu pendant le printemps.
Je ne possède que Classics Live et Classics Live II. Je les écoute en boucle depuis quelques semaines. Les amateurs de ce groupe en pensent quoi?
Et le Live Bootleg, il est bon? Je capte pas bien, il est de 78 ou de 93? Est-ce que c'est le même que Live In The USA?
Sinon, apparemment, Toys In The Attic et Rocks ont l'air d'être indispensables et bourrés de classiques, alors je crois que je vais me capter ces deux-là assez vite. Ceux d'avant sont comment?

C'est avec "Rocks" que j'ai découvert Aerosmith, et j'ai tout de suite accroché. J'adore aussi l'album suivant "Draw The Line", un disque où ils sont tarés! Mais "Kings & Queens" est sublime.

Ce live est sorti en 78 mais date de la tournée 76 avec Rocks.

Anecdote en passant, "Rocks" est l'album qui a changé la vie de Slash :

Slash wrote: "I first heard it when I was about 14 years old. I used to race BMX bikes and the older guys put it on, and it just grabbed me — 'f%@&, this is bad.' I only got to hear it for like a second the first time. The second time I heard it was — there was this girl that used to hang around a certain group of friends, and she was probably the best-looking girl in school and in the neighborhood, and she'd just broken up with her boyfriend. I tried desperately to pick this girl up for the longest time, and finally she invited me up to her house.

"I was aspiring to get in this girl's pants, more or less, so I go up to her room, and she's got tapestries on the wall and incense and pot, her stereo — a typical teenage-girl’s room at the time. She put on some records; we listened to ZEPPELIN; we listened to YES; and then finally she put this record on that I recognized immediately from like the first f%&*#n' note.

"It was 'Rocks'. I must've listened to this record in that girl's — her name was Lori — bedroom probably a half-dozen times, from front to back, over and over again, and I completely ignored her. The whole purpose of my being there completely went out the window. Finally I think she said, 'I think it's time for you to go.' And I was like, 'Okay, see ya.' I got on my bike and I took off and she never spoke to me again."
