Vocalist JACQUES BELANGER Quits EXCITER (Again) - May 6, 2006

For the third time in 10 years, vocalist Jacques Belanger has left the Canadian thrash metal pioneers EXCITER. "Due to 'differences of opinion' on many issues between Jacques and the rest of the band, he felt he could no longer continue as vocalist for EXCITER," reads a statement from the group.

"We are currently exploring our options but, we have, regretably, had to cancel shows in Europe, the USA and Canada that we had scheduled or been working on for this summer [including the Minneapolis Mayhem 3 festival in August].

"The writing for the new CD is complete and we have 10 new songs to record, but we'll have to find the voice to sing on these ripping new tracks first.

"EXCITER would like to thank all the die-hard fans, throughout the globe, who have supported us for many years."

EXCITER's latest CD is "New Testament - Coven of Re-Recorded Classics", a collection of reworked early songs which was released in June 2004 through France's Osmose Productions.

A force de partir et revenir, c'est bien qu'un truc n'allait pas entre lui et le groupe... dommage, je trouve que sa voix collait bien à toutes les époques d'Exciter, cf le dernier skeud de "réenregistrements".

Il est remplacé par Kenny "Metal Mouth" Winter.

Canadian thrash metal pioneers EXCITER have announced the addition of Brooklyn, New York-based singer Kenny "Metal Mouth" Winter to the group's ranks. "We're gearing up to record the next CD at the end of November, then it'll be gigging time!!!!" says the band's bassist, Clammy. "We're fucking PUMPED and looking forward to seeing all our friends soon!"

Vocalist Jacques Belanger left EXCITER for the third and final time this past spring "due to differences of opinion on many issues," according to a press release.

ah ouais je me rappelle qu'ils avaient joué Evil Omen au Keep It True, ça donnait :

EVIIIIIIIIIIIIL (voix de puerco)
OMEEEEEEEEEEEEN (voix suraigue)

J'ai hâte et en même temps je me demande ce que ça va donner avec le nouveau chanteur, Bellanger il déchirait tout...

Espérons que le nouveau chanteur sera à la hauteur, Bélanger était vraiment excellent.

Enfin un groupe qu'on peut acheter les yeux fermés en toute confiance, comme Motorhead il n'y a jamais tromperie sur la marchandise avec EXCITER !

C'est vrai qu'elle est vraiment foireuse cette nouvelle pochette...Genre photo montage fait en 5mn avec un pauvre logiciel fonctionnant avec windows 95 sur le pc du bassiste

J'adore comme pochette, mais effectivement ça vaut pas Unveiling the Wicked avec la fille zombie ( excellent album au passage avec un autre guitariste que john Ricci)

Ah bon t'aimes bien cet album? Je trouve que c'est un de leur skeud les plus faibles, avec l'album éponyme de 1988...
Mes préférés sont The Dark Command et Long Live The Loud.
Je n'attends plus grand chose de la part de ce groupe, mais si ce nouvel album est disponible en vynil, pourquoi pas?

Unveiling the wicked est un peu plus fin que les autres, c'est comme Another perfect day pour Motorhead !

Sinon Heavy metal Maniac reste mon préféré, Kill after Kill de 92 est très bon aussi.
Seul New Testament est un peu dispensable comme il s'agit de vieux morceaux réenregistrés avec le nouveau chanteur.
