Shadow Gallery began in the early 1980s under the name Sorcerer, changing their name just in time to sign with Magna Carta Records in 1991. It was a young band joining forces with a young label. Both were doing something brave and fraught with risk: They were making music that is complex enough to merit careful attention, built around a compelling but oddly non-commercial blend of virtuosity and emotion, and saying that maybe there’s place in the world for something other than three-minute songs. Shadow Gallery uses its chops to tell stories – big stories, sometimes so big they have to span across multiple albums.

Longtime fans will especially relish “Rule The World,” a song recorded as a demo during the sessions for the second album, “Carved in Stone.” It’s very interesting to listen to it, and then flash forward to a more recent song, and see just how crystal clear the band’s musical vision has always been – there has always been a sound that they are reaching for, and the perfection of that sound gets a little bit closer with each new album they record.

Je n' y avais pas trop prêté attention , mais en fait c'est juste une compilation avec 2 ou 3 inédits.

Du coup va encore falloir patienter 3/4 ans avant un vrai nouvel album.

Gary Wehrkamp is joining forces with EXPEDITION DELTA for a concert in
Serbia this summer.The band's first release is out this winter on PROG
ROCK
RECORDS. Gary performed as a guest on one of the tracks, and now he
will
also perform alongside the band at one of Serbia's biggest rock
events.

Earlier this week Wehrkamp said "I had the opportunity to contribute a
guest
guitar solo to the first Expedition Delta Record this past year, and
have
since become friends with guitarist Srdjan Brankovic. When the band
was
asked to play CASTLE FEST in Serbia this coming July, and they extended
the
invitation for me to join them I was Happy to say Yes. This looks like
a
well organized, special event and I look forward to being a part of
the
entertainment that week! I was speaking to guitarist Srdjan Brankovic
about
it, and we might even consider a Shadow Gallery song or two, or maybe
even a
short medley. I am not there to lift the show from Expedition Delta,
They
are a terrific band and deserve any success coming to them - I am just
fortunate that they also appreciate my back catalogue of work, and
were
eager to join me on some Shadow Gallery riffs."

"We also thought it might be nice to get an AMARAN'S PLIGHT song in
there
too, and to that end, I suggested we add singer DC COOPER to the fold.
I
called him up, and he agreed that it sounded like a fun event. It could
be a
blast doing some of his great material as well and now we have a lot
of
options to squeeze into an action packed 45 minute set. It will also be
nice
to play some of the terrific Expedition Delta material with the cast
of
talented musicians who make up the show. Their record is simply
stunning! It
seems that a great time awaits us in the castle this July, and I am
also
looking forward to meeting many of the great fans from that part of
the
globe."

Talasquin tu sais que je t'en voudrais eternellement d'avoir fait l'apologie de ce groupe, ce qui m'avait fait acheter deux albums, et depuis je te maudis amicalement ?

Qu'est ce qui te coince avec SG ? C'est trop compliqué, trop tata (ou pas assez ?) les zicos sont pas assez beau gosses, on entend pas assez DC Cooper ??

Ouais ca se tortille trop le neurone pour rallonger la sauce, alors que plus concis, y aurait de tres bons titres avec de bonnes idées. Mais la c'est noyé dans les longeurs, inversemnt proportionnelles à ton gourdin cher Talasquin !

Je donne plutôt dans l'intro niveau slip ....

En attendant, j'ai un cerveau et je m'en sers parfois pour écouter de la zique et Shadow Gallery c'est achtement bien prceque j'ai raison.

Grande tristesse pour les fans, Michael Baker est mort avant hier :

t is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Shadow Gallery vocalist, Michael A. Baker.

Mike suffered a heart attack, Wednesday afternoon, October 29th, 2008. He was 45 years old.

Mike was a founding member of Shadow Gallery and for the past 16 years, helped shape the sound of the band with his magical voice. Additionally, he made many appearances on rock records around the world.

Those who knew him best were moved by his gentle spirit, sincere kindness, fun nature and passion for both music and sports. He was a warrior in the studio, a true professional.

Mike was our friend, our singer and our brother. We loved him and will miss him enormously, but he will always be remembered in our hearts and through his music.

Je viens de lire le communiqué...et franchement je suis vraiment triste.Mike Baker etait la voix et l'ame de SG.Un groupe de genie qui perd son chanteur.Un avenir pour SG ? j'en doute.RIP Mike Baker.

Difficile en effet d'imaginer Shadow Gallery sans la voix aérienne & envoutante de Mike Baker.

Je ne connais que trop peu SG "room V" en fait, album que j'adore) mais 45 ans c'est jeune pour mourir. RIP a lui et a sa voix unique.
