Megadeth joueront ils "Peace sells" en entier ?

C'est la question et la probabilité, pour feter les 25 ans de cet album...

Ca serait assez enorme encore une fois...

MEGADETH's MUSTAINE Is 'Totally Interested' In Performing Entire 'Peace Sells' Album - Feb. 4, 2011

2011 is shaping up to be a busy year for MEGADETH. The Dave Mustaine-fronted band will take part in the "European Carnage" tour with SLAYER in March, to be followed by a one-off "Big Four" U.S. festival date with METALLICA, SLAYER and ANTHRAX in April, and an appearance at the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival over the summer with DISTURBED and GODSMACK. However, 2011 also marks the 25th anniversary of MEGADETH's second album, "Peace Sells But Who's Buying?!" So will they tour behind that as well like they did for the 20th anniversary of "Rust In Peace" last year? Mustaine told VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner, "We've already had people talk to us about doing that and I told our manager that I'm totally interested in doing 'Peace Sells' for a 25th anniversary this year but I don't want to do it all year like we did with 'Rust in Peace'. I want to do it towards the end of the year. So we'll do the whole year doing our thing and then come around October, where the end of the year is, you've got a quarter of the year left, October, November and December, where we can do the 'Peace Sells' thing."

Mustaine spoke more about just how they would tour for "Peace Sells".

"You know, when you tour you've got to really be creative nowadays and when we tour, we like to tour-tour and then when we do special shows, which are called one-offs, we like to do real key one-offs," he told VH1 Radio Networks. "And I think it would be really cool to do a hard tour where you're canvassing all the areas that you need to hit and then if you do something symbolic like the 'Peace Sells' anniversary tour, just do like THE [ROLLING] STONES do, do 12 cities around the world."

Bah, s'il a pu faire RIP, il devrait pouvoir faire "Peace sells" (avec une petite ligne seulement, non ?)

Impossible, Mustaine ne veut plus interpréter certains morceaux de cette tuerie!
A moins qu'il ne change les paroles de The Conjuring par exemple...Obey!!!

Ah ben largement

En même temps, on a plus souvent eu des titres de "Countdown..." que de "Peace sells"...

Et vivement qu'ils remettent des morceaux de "Youthanasia" quand même... J'aimerai beaucoup réentendre "Reckoning day", "Family tree" ou "Addicted to chaos" !

Ben on etait ensemble pour le Priest feast londonien couillon !

Et puis Megadeth je dois en être à une bonne quinzaine de fois en live...
Non je parlais du Zenith parisien, car depuis 97 je les ai jamais revu la bas (et je crois qu'ils n'y sont jamais repassé d'ailleurs), donc ca rappelle de bons souvenirs

J'adore la remarque du journaliste, quand il dit que pourtant Araya chante "The Antechrist" regulierement alors qu'il est catholique pratiquant !

DAVE MUSTAINE: 'I Got Into Witchcraft And Black Magic And It Ruined My Life' -

Joel McIver of U.K.'s Total Guitar magazine caught up with MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine to talk about the band's seminal album "Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?", as part of the magazine's thrash special (Total Guitar issue 213 - on sale March 18). Instead they wound up talking about black magic, Catholicism and SLAYER. A couple of excerpts from the chat that weren't used in the article follow below.

Total Guitar: Dave, it's 25 years since the "Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?" album. Any plans to play it live?

Mustaine: Performance wise, "The Conjuring" is one of the heaviest songs on the record, but unfortunately it's got black magic in it and I promised that I wouldn't play it any more, because there's a lot of instructions for hexes in that song. Although it seems kinda corny, anybody who's a Wiccan or a warlock or anything like that will know that all of that stuff is instrumental.

When I got into black magic I put a couple of spells on people when I was a teenager and it haunted me forever, and I've had so much torment. People say, "Goddamn, Dave never gets a break, he's had such a hard life," and I just think, "No, Dave didn't — he got into black magic and it ruined his life." It wasn't that I was a bad guy or that I had a big mouth, it was that I got into witchcraft and black magic and it ruined my life. Fortunately for me, with all the work and the love of my friends, and not giving up with my guitar playing, I got over it. So I look back now and I think, "Hmm, I don't wanna play 'The Conjuring'."

I look at songs like "Black Friday" and I think, "That would be a good song to play, too," but I look at the lyrics, which are about a homicidal madman who goes on a killing spree. Now, the irony of all of this is that I said I wasn't going to play it but we've got the 25-year anniversary coming up and people are saying we have to do this record. And I'm thinking that I can't possibly do that and stay true to myself. But I'm sure where there's a will there's a way.

When I first got saved about 10 years ago, I was really scared and I was basically holding on to anything that I heard in church or whatever, but as I've grown I've learned a lot and lightened up a lot, and I see people around me doing certain things and instead of me saying, "Man, you shouldn't do that!" I think quietly to myself, "Dude, you don't know what you're doing…" It's a huge growth process.

Total Guitar: Tom Araya of SLAYER is a practicing Catholic, and he goes onstage and sings "The Antichrist" every night…

Mustaine: Yeah. Y'know, I really cherish the relationship that I've rebuilt with the guys in SLAYER right now and I'm gonna sidestep that, because I don't know anything about Catholicism and I do know that I am very appreciative of not having any feuds right now, so I'm gonna skip that one, if you don't mind.

J'avoue que j'ai du mal à comprendre. Tu peux très bien raconter une histoire de magie noire sans y croire !

Les réalisateurs de films d'horreur ou autres ne croient pas forcément dans les mythes ou mythologies qu'ils mettent en scène. Tout ça c'est du folklore à ne pas prendre trop au sérieux.

Quand j'étais ado j'essayais de croire en Satan et je prenais certains trucs trop au 1er degré mais maintenant c'est rigolo quoi. Mustaine devrait avoir assez de recul pour passer outre. It's only rock n roll.

c'est vrai que j'avais halluciné sur la vidéo de Metallica pendant leur période "St Anger" de voir que Mustaine restait toujours bloqué sur la période '80 '82 et qu'il avait toujours des griefs envers Metallica alors qu'il avait accompli avec Megadeth sa revanche et construit sa propre légende.

Pour moi il fait partie des 10 "dieux vivants" du metal et n'a rien à prouver à personne, m'enfin bon.
