En attendant qu'on en sache un peu plus sur ce nouvel album (date de sortie inconnue), y a déjà ce titre à se mettre dans les esgourdes qui traîne sur youtube :

J'adore ce groupe et j'espérais trouver ce nouvel album au metal assault le week end dernier.
J'espère qu'ils l'auront au desert fest début avril...

Pendant ce temps, le EP "The Time Lord" est réédité, et d'autres vont suivre :

After many delays, the official release date for PAGAN ALTAR's The Time Lord EP has been confirmed for July 13th.

Cruz Del Sur Music is releasing this EP for the European market in collaboration with Shadow Kingdom Records, which is responsible for the North American edition. The Time Lord EP features Pagan Altar’s early material, written and recorded in between 1978 and 1979 across different studios, and later saved for posterity on cassette tape, the top quality audio standard at the time.

This release sees the light of day on CD format for the first time ever, having been previously released as vinyl-only editions. The genuine 4-track original recording has been specifically remastered for the best CD sounding results.

The Time Lord is just the first in a series of re-releases of the entire Pagan Altar’s back catalog. These will hit the streets before the end of the year, together with the long-expected new studio opus, Never Quite Dead.

Pre-orders of The Time Lord CD EP started on Tuesday, June 26th, and products will be shipped from July 4th.

PAGAN ALTAR's new album, Judgement Of The Dead CD will be available in North American stores on January 8, 2013, but for now you can order it at the Shadow Kingdom Records store here.

An excerpt from the press release reads as follows: "Back in 1982 PAGAN ALTAR released this NWOBHM masterpiece and almost immediately this album went into obscurity. They have been by far the most over looked band in the history of heavy metal music. In the late '90's they came out of the woodwork and put this out on their own label and it was mistakenly called Volume 1. The extra track was an acoustic track which was just called 'Acoustics' at the time. This is the first time this album will be released in all its glory. The correct title 'Judgement of the Dead' and updated acoustic song title as well. Also, this is the original artwork that was released back in 1982 which has never been seen before until now. We've re-mastered the CD to sonically preserve its antique feel. It comes with a very nice booklet that includes a story and old band photos. If there ever was such a thing as a perfect album, this would be it! There is nothing more satisfying than the sound of this record. If you've never heard of this band or album, think of BLACK SABBATH and JETHRO TULL and you're almost there."

oui, enfin c'est une réédition du premier album volume One, déjà édité en CD et double LP il y a quelques années. Mais bon ça fera plaisir à ceux qui ne l'ont pas encore, un album essentiel pour tout amateur de doom.

L'album qui était complété en 2014 va être réenregistré, le résultat n'étant pas satisfaisant :

British doomsters Pagan Altar lost their singer Terry Jones in 2015, when they were working on a new album as well. In a new update, Alan Jones revealed that the album was finished by 2014 but needs to be redone.

Alan Jones, guitarist and Terry Jones' son, posted on the band's Facebook page: "I have decided to redo the music on the room of shadows. This album was finished and could have come out in 2014, but neither of us was happy with it. Believe me if my Dad wanted this to come he would have brought it out in 2014. I am not going into the whys and wherefores of this because it is not anyone else's concern, and I certainly am not getting drawn into any slagging matches online. I have recently asked Andy and Diccon to come in and redo the respective parts. This will take some time because we have really got to go back to the beginning. We have made a start but it will take some time. This has obviously put a few noses out of joint and bruised a few egos and I'm sure there is going to be a lot of rubbish said, but at the end of the day this is my music and no one else's, and I certainly don't want to bring out something I wouldn't want to listen to myself. AL."

Doom metallers Pagan Altar will release their long-awaited final album, The Room Of Shadows, on CD, cassette and vinyl through Temple Of Mystery Records on August 24th, 2017. The album will be available for pre-order on July 24th at this location. The cover artwork, painted by Adam Burke, can be seen below.

Originally written thirteen years ago, The Room Of Shadows has gone through various shapes until finally being completed two years after the tragic passing of beloved frontman Terry Jones, who had been bravely battling cancer for a year prior. This album is not only Pagan Altar's last record, it is also Terry's very last vocal performance, and picks up where Mythical & Magical left off.

Mais ce ne sera donc pas le dernier album de Pagan Altar puisque Brendan Radigan a annoncé samedi dernier qu´il continuaient désormais sous la bannière Pagan Altar
