Prévu pour l'été chez Massacre!
Bassist Jan Bünning of German power metallers PARAGON has issued the following update:
"At present we are gathering ideas for our next album. So far we recorded about 18 rough instrumental versions of songs. Until the end of this month it should be about 25.
"We never had so many songs to choose from for an album.
"At the end of January we will have band meeting to choose our faves of the recorded songs. Buschi [vocalist Andreas Babuschkin] and I will then enter our rehearsal room and start recording vocals for these faves to see if the lyrics and vocal lines fit.
"If our timing is OK, we will then start to rehearse the finished songs in March and the enter [producer] Piet Sielck's studio in April for a release in late summer on Massacre Records."
Bünning previously stated about PARAGON's decision to once again work with Sielck on the new CD, "We already worked with him on four of our previous albums ('Steelbound', 'Law Of The Blade', 'The Dark Legacy' and 'Revenge') and it will for sure be like a coming home for us. Piet worked with bands like SAXON and BLIND GUARDIAN and knows best what we have to sound like."
The artwork for the new PARAGON album will once again be handled by Dirk Illing, who previously worked with the band on "Law The Blade", "The Dark Legacy" and "Forgotten Prophecies".
PARAGON last year acquired two new guitarists, David Wieczorek (ex-STORMWARRIOR) and Wolfgang Tewes (BLACK HAWK, WHEELS OF STEEL).
PARAGON 2011 is:
Andreas "Buschi" Babuschkin (MINOTAUR, VICE VERSA) - Lead Vocals
David Wieczorek (STORMWARRIOR) - Guitar
Wolfgang Tewes (BLACK HAWK, CRYSTAL SHARK) - Guitar
Jan Bünning (ASMODIS, EROSION, BLACK LAWS) - Bass
Christian Gripp (TORMENT, MEAT SHOP) - Drums
PARAGON's latest album, "Screenslaves", was released in November 2008 via Massacre Records. The CD was produced by Uwe Lullis (ex-GRAVE DIGGER, REBELLION) at Black Solaris Studio in Frankfurt.
Bünning quit PARAGON after the recording of 2007's "Forgotten Prophecies" because of "musical differences" but rejoined the band in 2009.

Je veux pas dire de conneries mais j'ai cru voir qu'ils se séparaient de David Wieczorek.
Peut être un retour de Martin Christian ????

Sur le fessebouc du groupe hier :
Buschi has to record three more songs until the end of the week.
Maybe a few more lead guitars, other overdubs and of course also backing vocals.
The mix also has to be done. So the finished album should be ready in about two or three weeks. But then we have to see how long it will take to release the album as we also need new band pictures for the booklet, the frontcover artwork and of course the record company also needs so time for the promotion before the release.
So I guess it will be in about three to four month before it comes out...
Jan

Bassist Jan Bünning states: "I just had the pleasure to listen to our full new album and can only tell you it´s a fuckin´ HUGE piece of pure heavy metal. I know that every band says it, but this one is our best so far. Excellent songs, excellent riffing, excellent lead vocals, execllent cover art and the best sound Piet (Sielck) had ever mixed for any band. I am really looking forward for your reactions when it is released! By the way: It happend that we have TWO guest singers now..."
A previous update from Paragon stated: "We are pleased to welcome our new second guitarist Jan Bertram (pictured below). We have only three samples with him behind us but we are sure that it was the absolute right choice. Welcome to the crew Jan!"
Paragon lineup:
Andreas Babuschkin - Vocals
Wolfgang Tewes - Guitar, Backing Vocals
Jan Bertram - Guitar, Backing Vocals
Jan Bünning - Bass, Backing Vocals
Chris Gripp - Drums, Backing Vocals

PARAGON Completes Work On New Album - July 6, 2012
German power metallers PARAGON have completed work on their new album and are currently seeking a suitable record label to release the effort.
Commented PARAGON bassist Jan Bünning: "Since the 20th of June, we have the mastered mix of our new album and I can just say [producer] Piet Sielck has done an awesome job. To me it sounds like a heavier and more 'life' version of 'Revenge' mixed with the guitar sound of 'Law Of The Blade'. Just perfect!
"Our guitar player Wolle [Wolfgang Tewes] wrote a album full of PARAGON classics and our 'newbie' Jan Bertram shredded a whole bunch of great lead guitar parts. And Buschi [Andreas Babuschkin; vocals] seems to be like wine — he's getting better and better and has delievered the best performance he has ever done."
The track listing for the new PARAGON CD is as follows:
01. Last Day On Earth (intro)
02. Iron Will
03. Tornado
04. Gods Of Thunder
05. Bulletstorm
06. Blood & Iron
07. Blades Of Hell
08. Dynasty
09. Rising From The Black
10. Demon's Lair
11. Secrecy
Adds Bünning: "There will also be a tribute song to a very famous metal band which influenced us very much, but we are not sure if it will not only be a bonus song on special limited edition of the album."
The cover artwork will once again be created by Dirk Illing (SCORPIONS, RUNNING WILD), while the photos will be handled by Stefan Malzkorn (GAMMA RAY, SAXON) and the cover layout will be overseen by Claudia von Bihl (Auburn Records, ACCEPT, ANVIL).
Jan Betram previously played with PARAGON's drummer, Chris Gripp. PARAGON bassist Jan Bünning states, "[Jan] is a longtime PARAGON fan and even wanted to join us a long time ago."
