Leur nouvel album sortira le 25 janvier, je pense que la pochette ne doit pas être définitif
The Swiss rockers record here songs for their new CD «Dirty Dynamite». The album is slated to be released January 25th, 2013. «The nights were long and extremely creative, it was totally worh the effort», adds bassist and producer Chris von Rohr. «For us a lifelong dream has come true», adds Storace.
As Switzerland's most successful hard rock band, KROKUS sold more than 13 million albums in a career that spanned over almost forty years time. In the past they recorded their albums in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto or Zurich. After well publicized quarrels eventually the originals broke up and in 2008 the originals finally reunited. The comeback-CD «Hoodoo» shot straight to #1 in the charts of their native Switzerland.
Now the ambitious rockers want to surpass their successes of the past. «This album could possibly become our masterpiece. Pure, dirty, in your face hard rock with some blues-elements. We've been taking the time it needs to work on songs and melodies and to constantly fine-tune them at the place that offered us the maximum inspiration», explains Von Rohr.
«We wanted to take in the vibe at the birthplace of modern rock music», comments Storace. «It is a unique feeling to return to the place where it all started.» Both rave that this place is full of memories, the ghost of John Lennon present everywhere.
«The magical ambiance inspires us, it's like additional doping for our creativity», beams Marc. That was the main reason why they decided to record at Abbey Road Studios in London. «We return to our roots.»
As the Beatles' 1969 «Abbey Road» album was their last official recording, will «Dirty Dynamite» be the last official album for KROKUS? Chris von Rohr: «That only the (rock) Gods know! »

30 years after his departure from KROKUS, guitarist Mandy Meyer has now officially returned.
Founder Chris Von Rohr and Fernando Von Arb are thrilled to have him back in the fold. Fernando says: "Now the KROKUS family is complete again."
Meyer replaced original KROKUS guitarist Tommy Kiefer for the remainder of 1980's "Metal Rendez-Vous" tour and 1981's "Hardware" tour and witnessed the growing popularity of KROKUS worldwide, including the band's first U.S. tour. Those two albums sold millions of copies around the world.
Mandy left KROKUS and moved at the tender age of 22 years old to Los Angeles to pursue his musical dreams. And it worked out pretty good, as time would tell.
In the mid-Nineties, Mandy moved back to Switzerland and joined GOTTHARD, another successful Swiss band. In 2004 he left that band and concentrated on his solo career. Between 2005 and 2007, he toured with KROKUS in support of the "Hellraiser" album, which he recorded and contributed to.
In 2009, Meyer joined forces with vocalist Michael Kiske (ex-HELLOWEEN) with Dennis Ward (bass) and Kosta Zafiriou (drums) of Germany's PINK CREAM 69 in UNISONIC.
Towards the end of 2011, Chris Von Rohr approached Mandy and asked him whether he would be game to play a couple of shows in Japan. Mandy recalls: "I agreed in a New York minute". The concerts proved to be totally successful. "And we got along great, it was as if time stood still," he adds.

Nouveau batteur :
For Flavio Mezzodi, a childhood dream has come true. The musician from Solothurn, where Swiss hard rock legends KROKUS are from, has been officially named the band's new drummer.
"At age 10 I wanted nothing more than to play in a rock band and play all over the world," he states. "And now that dream has become reality".
KROKUS bassist and producer Chris Von Rohr says: "The precision and groove of Flavio's drum work is exactly what our band needed. We are extremely happy that we found him."
Adds KROKUS singer Marc "The Voice" Storace: "Flavio is a great human being and musically fits perfectly into our lineup. With him on drums, we will rock with even more power.
"Now we are complete again."
Flavio learned his drum skills at the Dante Agostini Drum School in Paris. He also teaches at numerous drumming schools. He played professionally with Swiss acts STEFANIE HEINZMANN and the band FOX.
Mezzodi grew up listening to KROKUS. One of the first records he ever heard was the band's 1980 "Metal Rendez-Vous" release.
Over the almost four decades, KROKUS' drummer slot has been often vacant. Freddy Steady left the band multiple times. The other Swiss drummer, Dani Crivelli, tragically died about three weeks ago.
