Legendary German alcoholic thrash metal act TANKARD is currently working on the follow up to their highly acclaimed 2012 album, 'A Girl Called Cerveza'. The new album will be titled 'R.I.B.' (Rest In Beer) and is set to be released in summer 2014 via Nuclear Blast. Taking inspiration from the motto “never change a winning team”, the guys will enter the studio in January 2014 to kick off the recording
with producer Michael Mainx (BÖHSE ONKELZ, DER W, D-A-D, DISBELIEF), who produced the last album. The band have also chosen to use Patrick Strogulski who created the artwork for 'A Girl Called Cerveza' and is also a student of Sebastian Krüger who created TANKARD's previous album artwork up to the 2012 release.
Mastermind Gerre states:
"After the highest chart position in the band's history with 'A Girl Called Cerveza' we are looking forward to work again with Michael Mainx - to record the next thrash hammer! Currently we're working hard to finish the last few songs for the album and I can promise that this time the techno influences are greatly scaled back… joking aside,
if it’s called TANKARD, you will always get TANKARD - otherwise let yourself be surprised!"
Until the release of the new album, Nuclear Blast is offering fans a series of reissues covering the highlights of the
TANKARD discography, including extensive bonus material!

Iconic thrash metal band Tankard is set to enter Studio “23” in Frankfurt/Germany to start recording this week.

Michael Mainx commented: "Three time’s the charm – I‘m totally looking forward to have my hands on the controllers for Tankard or the third time in year '2' after the band anniversary! Typical for TANKAD is also the truth story behind the song, like Mastermind Gerre told us:
“A man has been suffering from sudden symptoms of drunkenness. For a long time he has been accused of alcoholism, but then his strange and rare disease was discovered by medics. The man suffers from the so-called self-brewery-syndrome. A form of yeast inside his stomach is feeding on sugar and not only produces carbon dioxide, but also alcohol. A true story, calling for Tankard to use for their lyrics!
A real thrasher that will be given the second official video of the new album!”

Putain, le pire c'est qu'en lisant ce truc dans les news ils y a un moment, j'ai direct pensé "ça ferait un titre sympa pour Tankard ça".
Sinon comme depuis un moment avec Tankard, pas de grosses attentes perso, mais on sait qu'on passera un bon moment live dans tout les cas même avec les nouveaux.

On a suspecté un AVC chez le batteur, du coup il est à l’hôpital pour des examens approfondis et va être remplacé par le cogneur d'Holy Moses pour les 2 prochains concerts du groupe (Summer Breeze et Motocultor).
