C'est le projet de Gary Cherone, chanteur d'Extreme, et de son frère :)

The brand new video for HURTSMILE's "Just War Theory" can be viewed below.

HURTSMILE is frontman extraordinaire Gary Cherone's (EXTREME, ex-VAN HALEN) latest project and features Cherone collaborating with his brother, guitarist Mark Cherone. The Boston Globe referred to "Just War Theory" as a "revved-up rocker(s)" and the video is an equally-dynamic performance take on the song. "Just War Theory" has already received rock radio airplay in markets such as Boston, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Madison, New Jersey and more.

HURTSMILE's self-titled debut was just released in North America via Frontiers Records and has been winning over the press and fans alike. The Boston Herald said of the album, "the results are great", while Colossal Pop referred to the album as "a rock solid album"; Metal Assault avowed, "With an entertaining debut that excellently portrays a plethora of musical styles executed with aplomb by four seasoned musicians, HURTSMILE is here to stay." Chock-full of swaggering guitars, soaring vocals and eclecticism, "Hurtsmile" is a conceptually-cohesive album examining the nature of man and the human heart, with an added focus on the current state of world affairs and political commentary.

HURTSMILE will perform at this year's M3 Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Saturday, May 14.

"HURTSMILE was a long time coming… I always wanted to write a record with my brother," says Gary. "I'm a big fan of Mark's song writing and his snarling guitar riffs." The timing was right as EXTREME was in-between its touring and record cycle, leaving Gary the freedom. They recruited Joe Pessia (bass) an alumnus of Nuno Bettencourt's DRAMAGODS as well as the guitar player for TANTRIC. Joe also engineered, and co-produced the record with Gary. To round off the lineup they enlisted heavy hitter Dana Spellman on drums "It's an East Coast-Boston thing," states Gary. "Mark, my brother, was in a band with Nuno's brother… Joe was in Nuno's band and Dana was a friend, and student of Mike Mangini (former EXTREME drummer) … we like to keep it in the family."

Un nouvel album sort le 02 juin :
HURTSMILE, the band led by the third VAN HALEN frontman, Gary Cherone (also of EXTREME), who took over when Sammy Hagar left the group (or was fired, depending on whom you ask) in 1996, is teaming up with PledgeMusic.com to issue a new album, "Retrogrenade", on June 2, with a public release to follow.

Available now at PledgeMusic.com is a free download of the single "Rock & Roll Cliché".

Following up the group's 2011 self-titled debut, HURTSMILE's "Retrogrenade" pays homage to almost every genre Cherone has presented in the past and still finds room to give you something new. Inspired by their classic rock roots, "it is the collective effort of the band flexing their musical muscle," says Gary. Diverse tracks include the AEROSMITH- and AC/DC-inspired "Rock & Roll Cliché", the hook-laden "Hello I Must Be Going", the epic blues of "Where Do We Go From Here", to the sweet acoustic broken-hearted harmonies of "Goodbye". HURTSMILE rebels against traditional cohesiveness and does not attempt to capture a specific mood. It rather bombards you with a multitude of emotions and challenges you to go along for the ride.

HURTSMILE is Gary Cherone on vocals, Mark Cherone (FLESH) on guitar, Joe Pessia (TANTRIC, DRAMAGODS) on bass and Dana Spellman on drums.

"Retrogrenade" track listing:

01. Rock & Roll Cliché
02. Hello I Must Be Going
03. Big Government
04. I Still Do
05. Sing A Song (My Mia)
06. Anymore (Don't Want My Love)
07. Where Do We Go From Here
08. A Melody For You
09. Wonder What
10. Walk Away
11. Good Bye
12. Pump it Up
