Drummer Sean Saley has joined Pentagram. Influenced by the likes of Bill Ward, Ian Paice, and Les Binks, drummer Sean Saley grew up on hard rock and heavy metal before taking a turn as drummer for DC underground punk legends GOVERNMENT ISSUE in the 80s. Anyone familiar with the Maryland metal scene may also remember Sean from 90s-era technical/doom/thrash wizards ANGSTROM, which also featured blind guitarist Torey Ferguson. Pas encore vu en entier, mais ça à l'air magnifiquement pathétique.

Je viens de le regarder en entier, c'est assez édifiant et montre le succès que le groupe aurait du rencontrer dès les années 70 si il n'y avait pas eu autant de drogue. A côté de lui, Lemmy est un plaisantin question défonce.

Tu parles, je viens de mettre le film sur pause après 10 minutes, on venait de le voir en train de chercher des roches de crack sous les coussins du canapé. Quand on compare son état de l'époque (ce qui ne fait pas particulièrement longtemps) à celui de maintenant, on voit la remonté.

En tout cas, très touchant comme documentaire, et très "vrai", dans le sens qu'il y avait peu d'artifices, d'experts à la con, c'était avant tout Pellet et quelques autres individus, qui interviennent avec lui dans son quotidien parfois très sombre, ainsi que quelques témoins clés. J'ai commencé à regarder les bonus, on voit déjà qu'ils ont plus coupé sur les ""stars"", alors que dans le montage final, on ne voit que Phil Anselmo et Jimmy Bower de Down, parce que le premier cherchait à signer Pentagram sur son label, on voit dans les scènes supprimées un témoignage de Hank III, ou sa rencontre avec Witchcraft (assez pathétique d'ailleurs, parce qu'il était encore sur le crack à ce moment-là).

Faut aussi s'attendre à un documentaire sur les personnes, ne vous attendez pas à une chronologie de Pentagram, d'analyse de la scène ou de trucs du genre. D'ailleurs, le terme Doom Metal n'est jamais utilisé dans le film et l'idée de la scène du Maryland n'est que brièvement évoquée par Pellet.

Petite correction, Joe Hasselvander parle du Doomsday en 2001 en spécifiant « This Doom Metal festival », mais bon, c'est l'exception qui confirme la règle.

After months of searching and reviewing literally hundreds of applicants from around the world, legendary doomsters PENTAGRAM have announced the addition of guitarist Matt Goldborough to the group's ranks.

Matt is a Philadelphia-based musician, composer and riff aficionado. Versed in many genres of music, Matt's experience outside of the heavy metal world brings a fresh yet classic approach to this genre-defining band. His style hearkens back to the very origins of "heavy metal" itself when heavy blues and psychedelic rock guitarists pioneered the genre in an attempt to harden rock and roll. This, of course, is exactly what Bobby Liebling and the original PENTAGRAM lineup did back in 1971.

Having played in a bevy of bands on the East Coast, Goldsborough is most recently known as part of the acclaimed Philadelphia rock band THE GREAT UNKNOWN. His debut with the PENTAGRAM family, rounded out by Greg Turley on bass and Sean Saley on drums, was on April 16, 2013 at the sold-out show at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, New York. If that gig wasn't special enough, the band performed songs not heard live in over 40 years! Inspired by a demand from the fans, Liebling and company pulled out rare gems, including "Be Forewarned".

After taking a break from Pentagram to bring Victor Griffin's IN-GRAVED around the world, the doom metal guitar god returns to his main fold. The realigned lineup featuring the Liebling/Griffin duo backed by Greg Turley on bass and Sean Saley on drums will embark on a long awaited tour of the West Coast area in February and March. When not touring the world, the band will be working hard on a new album for release in 2014.

US-based doom legends, Pentagram, are set to release their extensive double-disc DVD collection, titled All Your Sins, via Peaceville Records. Featuring over six hours of numerous electrifying concerts spanning three decades - all straight from the band’s collection - All Your Sins is due for release in February.

Pentagram, the highly influential American heavy metal/doom act fronted by mastermind Bobby Liebling, formed in the early 1970s, though their debut album - now known as Relentless - didn’t see a release until 1985. Through four decades of adversity and triumph, Pentagram has become a legendary international act and have firmly stamped their name in the heavy metal history books.



This first-ever official video collection recovers, repairs and resurrects the earliest known footage of these doomed metal pioneers and more. Featuring 2 DVDs packed with priceless archive footage, as well as recent shows, All Your Sins - Video Vault unearths the rumoured lost visual evidence pent up in the Ram Family vault for decades. This definitive collection contains numerous historical shows, including a charged performance at the legendary CBGB’s club in 1985, with a mass of classic renditions from the band’s catalogue finally gathered together for a live journey spanning over 30 years.

Although always a cult act with a strong and dedicated worldwide fanbase, Pentagram has enjoyed a recent surge in interest due in part to the fly-on-the-wall 2011 documentary, Last Days Here following the life, trials and tribulations of Bobby Liebling. The film gained international recognition; travelling the worldwide film festival circuit where it won several awards including Best Music Documentary at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam.

Pentagram's most recent album, Last Rites, was released via Metal Blade Records on April 14th, 2011 and their first ever official DVD (also out on Metal Blade), When the Screams Come, on August 30th, 2011. Both releases were met by rave reviews from fans and critics alike and saw the band playing sets at infamous SXSW festival in Austin TX as well as tours across the US and dates in Europe.

The highly influential American heavy metal/doom act, fronted by the mysterious Bobby Liebling, formed in the early 1970s, though its debut album - now known as "Relentless" - didn't see a release until 1985. Through four decades of adversity and triumph, Pentagram has become a legendary international act and has firmly stamped its name in the heavy metal history books.

Pentagram recently completed pre-production with Swedish producer, Mattias Nilsson, at studios in Baltimore, Md., D.C. and Va., with additional vocal and guitar production in Knoxville, Tenn. with Travis Wyrick. Wyrick is a Grammy Award-winning producer who produced the band's previous album, Last Rites.
