Tout est dans le titre, ou presque.
Ipswich, Suffolk, U.K.-based band DEVILMENT, featuring vocalist Dani "Filth" Davey of British extreme metallers CRADLE OF FILTH, has inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. DEVILMENT's full-length debut, "The Great And Secret Show", will be released in the fall. The CD was recorded at Grindstone Studios in Suffolk with producer Scott Atkins, who has previously worked with CRADLE OF FILTH, BEHEMOTH, AMON AMARTH, SYLOSIS and GAMA BOMB. The artwork was created by Drake Mefestta.

Filth had this to say about the signing: "I am thrilled to be a part of the Nuclear Blast family with my other band, the Witch County fiends DEVILMENT.

"Our debut album, 'The Great And Secret Show', is a horror-metal-fuelled slay ride of maleficent proportions and deserves some deep infernal love from a label that has dominated the metal market for aeons. And we have found that unconditional love at Nuclear Blast.

"All of us in the band are really looking forward to the forthcoming months, as the proverbial war machine kicks into gear and the album surfaces like some sub-aquatic monster hellbent on smashing stuff. Until then keep a cyclopean eye out for regular social media updates, videos and the announcement of live shows to further whet your appetite...

"The album cover depicts an intended escape by one of Jack The Ripper's victims, (followed as she is down a moonlit Victorian alley) into another enchanted realm. Some might read it as an imagined release from the horrible pain to follow, but the artist Drake Mefestta and I thought it served to show the lure of the mystical, amid a sea of debauch.

"The artwork that follows in the booklet is a stunning articulate walk-through of that enchanted realm.

"The album is entitled 'The Great And Secret Show' and concerns itself with the occult pulse behind the world, a land of imagination that can be slipped into at will. Like a generator buzzing behind everything. The truth behind the Wizards curtain. A phantasmagorical nightscape. A wonderland. A midnight playground. The fertile land of the dead."

DEVILMENT consists of Dani Filth (vocals), Daniel Finch (guitar and samples) Colin Parks (guitar), Nick Johnson (bass), Aaron Boast (drums) and Lauren Francis (keyboards and vocals).

The band's first single, "Mother Kali", can be streamed below.

DEVILMENT will tour Europe for the first time later this year as the support act for LACUNA COIL and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE.

Nouveau guitariste :
Dani Filth's Devilment just announced the band's new guitarist to be one Sam S. Junior, who has joined the Devilment ranks just in time for an appearance at this weekend's Hammerfest in Pwllheli, North Wales.

Devilment will also share the stage with Cradle Of FIlth at Graspop Open Air and Summer Breeze later in the year.
R.I.P Ronnie James Dio ! :(

La suite :
Gothic/symphonic metallers Devilment just announced their new album, Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes. The second record of the band will be out on November 18th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The album was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered at Grindstone Studios by close friend and long term collaborator Scott Atkins (Cradle Of Filth, Behemoth, Sylosis, Savage Messiah), between March and July of this year. Check out the cover art.

Dani Filth says: "Everybody in Devilment is very excited about the prospect of releasing our latest album, Devilment II: The Mephisto Waltzes, which we have worked extremely hard on. The album is definitely a step-up from our debut, featuring a more mature, dissonant presence coupled with a darker edge, yet at the same time utilising our better musical assets to deliver a unique metal hybrid. I don't even know what to classify it!"

Regarding the album's artwork, Dani revealed: "Winner of many international awards, the artist for the new Devilment album is Elena Vizerskaya aka Kassandra, whose photography and photo-manipulation perfectly complements the mysterious and magickal world of Devilment. Elena's work is sometimes compared to Dali and Magritte due to the complexity of artistic figures and the perceptible amount of layers, something to be felt and not necessarily understood, exotic dreams filled with reflections and allusion. I have been a fan of Elena's work for a long while now and had originally wanted to utilise it for the Cradle Of Filth album, The Manticore And Other Horrors as far back as 2011, which only fell through when band politics intervened and an in-house label artist was used instead."

"In conjunction with Elena, the booklet was compiled and further augmented with illustration by Dan Goldsworthy, who has also undertaken album artwork for the likes of Accept, Hell, Xentrix, Gloryhammer and Sylosis, amongst others. His contribution to the album has provided it with a minimalist dark uniformity, punctuated by slick and classily macabre imagery, the perfect balance to Elena's gorgeously vibrant photography."
