Les français reviennent avec encore une fois un album composé d'un seul titre!
French doom metallers MONOLITHE have finished recording their third full-length album, "Monolithe III", at Reed Studio, to be released later this year via Debemur Morti Productions in a four-panel digipack CD. The CD will be mixed and mastered this summer by Andrew Guillotin at Hybreed Studio. The artwork was created by Norwegian artist Robert Høyem.

"Monolithe III" will once again consist of a single long track.

Shortly after the release of the "Interlude Premier" EP back in 2007, MONOLITHE started to work on a new full-length album that was supposed to become "Monolithe III". This effort was also supposed to be released in 2008 via Appease Me…/Candlelight Records. However, for many reasons (including issues with Candlelight and mixing troubles), the effort never got completed and released.

In 2011, MONOLITHE decided to revisit and complete the music that had been recorded for the unfinished "Monolithe III" album and release it as a new EP. That became 2012's "Interlude Second", consisting of the tracks "Harmony Of Null Matter" Sections 1 and 2.

The next MONOLITHE album, "Monolithe III", will contain brand new material and will not feature any of the music that had been announced in 2008.

Whereas both EPs lean toward experimentation, "Monolithe III" is a continuation of what had been done with the "Monolithe I" and "Monolithe II" albums.

The "Interlude Premier" (2007) and "Interlude Second" (2012) EPs have been released via the Internet free of charge.

La suite :
French doom metallers Monolithe have unveiled the cover artwork that will grace their upcoming album. Take a look at it below, it was created by At The Ends. Monolithe IV will contain one long track (surprised?) which the band describes as: "...a cosmic trip offering over 55 minutes of perfectly-orchestrated doom, controlled from one edge to another, never interrupted by silence. More dense and more powerful than even its glorious predecessors..."

The CD release date is scheduled for October 18th via Debemur Morti Productions and you can now pre-order the digital copy through Bandcamp.

La suite astrologique :
French cosmic doom metal unit Monolithe is releasing a new album this year, just one year after Epsilon Aurigae. It's called Zeta Reticuli and the release date is now set up for July 8th, 2016 through Debemur Morti Productions. If you are curious about it, see the cover artwork (once again created by Robert Høyem) and tracklist below to get introduced to the record.

The label simply said: "Zeta Reticuli, probably the magnum opus of this incredibly unique and talented band, expands the definition of Doom Metal in a grandiose refinement and reinvention of Monolithe's history."

Ouaip, je ne comprends pas trop que ce groupe ne fasse pas plus parler de lui, ils ont clairement leur identité dans le genre. Compliqué pour les groupes français.
French doomers Monolithe are premiering a fresh new music piece. Lasting exactly 10 minutes, the song "Soyuz" is an excerpt from the band's upcoming new album Kosmodrom to be released in the fall of 2022. Mixed & mastered by Jari Lindholm.

Comment the band of the song: "The song narrates the crash of the Soyuz-1 spaceshuttle in April 1967, killing its passenger, cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov. "Soyuz" and the rest of the album tell the tale of intrepid pioneers, explorers, discoverers and the dangers and sacrifices inherent in their leap into the unknown, may it be voluntary or not, through the metaphor of real historical events related to the space conquest on the Soviet side.

"To avoid any potential ambiguity, Soyuz and the album this song is taken from have absolutely no relation to the current dramatic geopolitical situation, nor are they an ode to the Soviet era. The concept, music, lyrics and visuals were created between spring 2020 and the very beginning of 2022."

Le nouvel album de Monolith, excellent groupe de death/doom Français, sortira son prochain opus cette année. Plus de détail dans ce pavé trouvé sur le bandcamp du groupe :
Album concept:

Black Hole District is a story in a Tech-Noir style, inspired by Blade Runner, but also Dark City, Matrix, Ghost in The Shell, as well as “hard boiled” literature. The narrator lives in a decaying city, in a dystopian
future. The moon has left its orbit and is coming dangerously close to Earth, causing increasingly violent cataclysms (earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.). Humans now live at night because it is too hot during daytime.
This narrator is disturbed by recurring dreams in which a woman with long black hair speaks to him. However, he doesn’t remember who she is. He decides to investigate to find her. He ends up reaching a
forbidden part of the city, called “Black Hole District”. He enters a building which is actually an android factory. He then realizes that the faces of the inert and aligned androids being manufactured, are all the
same... And identical to his own. His break-in causes an alarm during which he, through the confusion, sees the woman of his dreams among the employees. He flees and tries to leave the city, pursued by a
militia charged with “removing” him; Because androids that have become “sentient” and can think for themselves are considered defective and dangerous. As he reaches the city limits, he gets fatally shot. At
the same time, the city begins to disintegrate, due to the Moon’s increasing proximity.

The Music:

Black Hole District is part of the band’s evolutionary logic since their beginnings: progression in continuity. If Monolithe’s musical style remains identifiable, new influences and musical desires enrich each new
album. This is the case with BHD, which drew on the aesthetics of the 1970s and 1980s, especially in terms of synthesizers, in particular with the use of the famous CS-80 synth popularized by Vangelis, and
the appeal of soundtracks of science fiction films. The album is also designed as a movie would be, with a scenario, an atmosphere, a central character whose train of thoughts is provided to the listener through
narrations in a “hard boiled” detective style. Eager to offer original music, Monolithe does not hesitate to break the rules of its primary genre, Doom Metal, while preserving its substantial marrow and roots.
