Les ex-Megadeth ont un projet ensemble.
Former MEGADETH members Nick Menza (drums) and James Lomenzo (bass) have announced a working musical relationship that will lead into a full working, writing, recording and touring band at some point.

Menza and Lomenzo's first jam session took place on June 25 at Menza's Disintegrator Studios in Studio City, California where they cracked through some of the old MEGADETH catalog along with some of their favorite METALLICA and LED ZEPPELIN songs.

A cover version from the session of the METALLICA classic "Motorbreath", with a guest appearance by guitarist/vocalist Davor Garasic from the Croatian thrash metal band SUFOSIA, can be streamed below.

Says Menza: "James is a top-notch player with a killer sound and I'm totally pumped and looking forward to creating some heavy original material with him once we officially solidify the rest of the lineup.

"Things are still in the developing stages, [so as] soon as James fulfills his touring obligations with John Fogerty, we will sink our teeth into this project. Right now, we are having some fun and collaborating with other players from around the world via the Internet to see what's out there. Nothing is set in stone.

Adds Lomenzo: "I've been a fan of Nick's drumming for a long time.

"Nick is a great guy and he's one of metal's standout drummers. It's an honor and a privilege to be making music with him and I look forward to what we'll create."

Menza joined MEGADETH for the 1990 recording "Rust In Peace" and for the next ten years became associated with the band's "classic" and most profitable era.

Following the reissue of the entire MEGADETH catalog, Menza was invited to reunite with the band in 2004. Days after a reunion was announced, Menza was fired and replaced with Shawn Drover. MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine said that this was because Nick "just wasn't prepared."

Lomenzo joined MEGADETH in 2006 and appeared on two of the group's studio albums, 2007's "United Abominations" and 2009's "Endgame". He was fired from the band in 2010 and replaced with returning original MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson.

Se rajoute Chris Poland!
Guitarist Chris Poland (pictured), best known for his work on MEGADETH's first two albums — "Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!" (1985) and "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?" (1986) — has been confirmed as the lead axeman for the as-yet-unnamed new project featuring fellow former MEGADETH members Nick Menza (drums) and James Lomenzo (bass). The trio will hold its first rehearsal today (Saturday, November 1), with plans to release an EP in early 2015. According to Menza, Poland "already has six heavy original songs in the can that we will start working on next week."

Menza and Lomenzo's first jam session took place on June 25 at Menza's Disintegrator Studios in Studio City, California where they cracked through some of the old MEGADETH catalog along with some of their favorite METALLICA and LED ZEPPELIN songs.

Reste plus qu'à savoir quand Menza va se retirer maintenant, vu que depuis son départ de Megadeth il finit par abandonner tout ce qu'il entame....

A noter que Nick Menza a également rejoint le projet de Chris Poland, OHM :
Former MEGADETH drummer Nick Menza has officially joined OHM:, the band led by another ex-MEGADETH member, guitarist Chris Poland.

Menza's addition to OHM: follows the recent passing of the band's previous drummer, David Eagle, who suffered a heart attack and had open-heart surgery in May.

On July 9, Poland and Menza performed at a benefit concert for Eagle at The Baked Potato in Studio City, California. Fan-filmed video footage of the event can be seen below.

As previously reported, Poland, Menza and fellow former MEGADETH member James LoMenzo (bass) have joined forces in a brand new band.

Regarding the new project's musical direction, which has been described by some as "LED ZEPPELIN meets METALLICA," Nick said: "It's got some elements of that, but I'd say we're just so far beyond everything that's been heard already. It's gonna be a conglomerate of styles. It's gonna be what we like to do best — have fun, play… Our material is gonna be really out there. It's gonna be different. It's gonna pumped, it's gonna be heavy, but it's gonna be us."

En revanche James Lomenzo s'est fait la malle du projet initial :
Former MEGADETH drummer Nick Menza recently officially joined OHM:, the band led by another ex-MEGADETH member, guitarist Chris Poland. Menza's addition to OHM: follows the recent passing of the band's previous drummer, David Eagle, who suffered a heart attack and had open-heart surgery in May.

Below is a recently professionally shot video of the new OHM: lineup performing the song "System of A Clown" from OHM:'s "Circus Of Sound" CD, released in 2008 by Mike Varney's Tone Center Records.

Former MEGADETH bassist James LoMenzo is no longer involved with Menza and Poland's new project due to other commitments, and Robby Pagliari of OHM:, who can be seen in the video below, is now playing bass.

The group is writing new material in a significantly heavier vein and the trio will be auditioning vocalists for the project very soon as demos are being completed in the studio. There may even be a band name change from OHM: to something else due to the direction of the new material the trio is writing.
