En lisant le topic vous avez déjà deviné qu'il s'agit d'un nouveau groupe "concurrent" à Morbid Angel. Mais pour l'instant pas d'album en vue. Le choix des guitaristes est assez surprenant par ailleurs.

Former MORBID ANGEL members David Vincent (vocals, bass) and Tim Yeung (drums) will join forces with guitarists Bill Hudson (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Ira Black (METAL CHURCH, LIZZY BORDEN) to perform classic MORBID ANGEL songs under the I AM MORBID banner.

The new band, which will play material from MORBID ANGEL's "Altars Of Madness" (1989), "Blessed Are The Sick" (1991), "Covenant" (1993) and "Domination" (1995) albums, has scheduled two shows in Brazil next spring: March 24 in Belo Horizonte and March 25 in São Paulo. Additional dates will be announced soon.

Said Vincent: "Looking forward to being back! I AM MORBID with Tim Yeung, Bill Hudson and Ira Black, performing all my classic MORBID ANGEL songs. More cities/shows [to be announced]."

Le groupe se fait attaquer sur Facebook par... la mère de Trey Azagthoth

Non seulement c'est embarrassant pour ne pas dire risible, mais en plus elle n'a pas été capable de comprendre que le concert en question à Sao Paulo est au Brésil (elle voyait ça au Texas?), en critiquant la langue sur l'affiche alors qu'il s'agit évidemment de portugais et non d'espagnol...

Janell Emmanuel, the mother of MORBID ANGEL guitarist Trey Azagthoth (born George Emmanuel III), has blasted the band's former frontman David Vincent for joining forces with several other musicians — including ex-MORBID ANGEL drummer Tim Yeung (drums) — to perform classic MORBID ANGEL songs under the I AM MORBID banner.

The new band, which is completed by guitarists Bill Hudson (CIRCLE II CIRCLE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) and Ira Black (METAL CHURCH, LIZZY BORDEN), will play material from MORBID ANGEL's "Altars Of Madness" (1989), "Blessed Are The Sick" (1991), "Covenant" (1993) and "Domination" (1995) albums. In a public posting on the Facebook event page for the São Paulo concert, Janell Emmanuel wrote: "David, What in the world are you doing? I see your still riding on Trey' coat tail..Good luck thinking you will succeed by using not only Morbid Angels music (careful nothing you do totally belongs to Trey..if so you need to pay for each song used.) And as far as using the Logo (which Trey owns) and a new logo that is just the same that has been used before....all you did was change the color. Get you own band together and leave Morbid Angel out of it.....Is that just too much to ask?....PS: Why nothing in English.....not everyone knows Spanish"

She added in the comments section below her original post: "My son knows nothing about this he would not waste his time to even post on this page. Trey has held this band together for 26 years 10 of those years David was off with his wife wearing a skirt. He did not use MORBID or ANGEL or anything else belonging to Trey during that time and the band continued, [and] will continue, without David, so I guess you think this is the battle of MORBID. My point from the beginning was, why does David think he has a right to continue with MORBID ANGEL when he is not part of the group?"

Ah la la C'est quoi cette histoire???

D'une part, je ne comprends pas trop pourquoi VIncent n'est plus dans Morbid Angel. Il a ete vire ou il est parti de lui même pour faire de la country? Ce n'est pas tres clair. Pourquoi ce retour vers le death? On peut donc supposer qu'il y a eu embrouille entre Vincent et Trey ou que ce dernier a tente de faire passe DV comme le bouquemissaire responsable du gros dechet qu'est Illud Divinum

C'est aussi un peu bête d'utiliser une chanson d'Illud Divinum Insanus comme nom de groupe pour une tournee basee sur les 4 premiers albums. Ils auraient pas pu appeler ca Immortal Rites ou un truc du genre?

Et puis, la version Tucker de Morbid Angel...c'est du zero pointe niveau communication . Il me semble qu'il n'y a même pas eu de communique officiel annoncant son retour (juste Tucker qui a fait un post facebook). Aucune comm sur l'album ou sur qui sont les 2 autres membres du groupe. Enfin on verra bien la gueule du truc aux dates programmes pour 2017.

Bref, j'adore les albums de MA. Les fois ou je les ai vu en live, c'etait top, mais putain être fan de Morbid Angel, c'est quand mem être assez maso au fond.

On a déjà Entombed AD (que j'aime bien), Venom Inc, Death to All.... ca commence a bien faire tout ca....

David Vincent s est fait lourder .... plus ou moins sans surprise pendant une période off.
Le truc c est qu il a appris via le net que Tucker était à nouveau le frontman de Morbid Angel. La communication semble rompue.

Du coup moi je n ai aucun avis sur ce nouveau groupe.

Pour la comm' du groupe, ils peuvent désormais faire appel à la mère de Trey
Au moins on rigole plus qu'avec la techno cosmique.

Pour Im Am Morbid, je ne sais même pas s'il s'agit d'un véritable groupe, ou d'une simple affaire temporaire pour cachetonner.

Vincent dit que ça sera un projet différent de Morbid Angel, pas très cohérent avec le concert de reprises annoncé...

Vincent: “This is certainly something that has been on my mind for some time now and, truthfully, even prior to Trey and I parting ways again. When the news of our separation became public last year I was literally bombarded with all manner of requests from around the globe. This is the first instalment of a very busy new year. I Am Morbid is a much different vehicle. Apart from my personal provenance and legacy, this is a separate entity altogether.”

Ghost Cult: With the announcement of I AM MORBID, fans quickly realized that metal was going nowhere in your mind. I read in a recent interview that this project was talked about, even before the split with MORBID ANGEL last year. When exactly did this all come together?

Vincent: "It's been discussed off and on for a few years now, but as they say, actions speak louder than words. While it was exciting to discuss, it was held off for a few years until I decided to go through some personal changes in my life, and really absorb the possibility of it happening. I went ahead and focused on my roots music, but this kept lingering, and now it's time for I AM MORBID to finally happen.

Ghost Cult: I AM MORBID is confirmed to play only material from the first four MORBID ANGEL albums, and so the set list must be a pain in the ass. There are a ton of hits, but I know you want to bring out songs you haven't played in a while too.

Vincent: "Yeah, like everything I do, I want to make this special. This is very different from MORBID ANGEL. If you want to see a MORBID ANGEL show, you know where to go, but this isn't it. I'm only going to be performing songs that I wrote on this tour. If I didn't write it, we aren't playing it. We are going to throw in things, here or there, to make things more unique, but it's going to be one brutal show. I can promise you that."
