"AUTOPSY will be entering Fantasy studios in Berkeley, California late October to record a few new tracks for an upcoming collection entitled 'All Tomorrow's Funerals'. This monstrous release will be on Peaceville Records and will contain all of AUTOPSY's EPs remastered by the band themselves as well as the new cuts, totalling 21 tracks all together. Everything from 'Retribution For The Dead' to the now-sold-out 'The Tomb Within' will be presented on CD and DLP with all original artworks, liner notes from the band and a killer new cover from Matt Cavotta. This is something the band has wanted to do for a long time, having all these chunks of material in one cohesive release, with the best sound and packaging possible. AUTOPSY will make every effort to make sure this death metal assault is top quality and worthy of your attention. The release date is tentatively set for March of 2012."

Legendary San Francisco Bay Area gore grind act AUTOPSY will release its sixth studio opus of horror and all-out madness, "The Headless Ritual", on July 2 via Peaceville Records. The cover art for the CD was painted by none other than the legendary Joe Petagno (MOTÖRHEAD, MARDUK), and it's safe to say he has outdone himself with this gruesome slice of horror.
Featuring the returning quartet of Chris Reifert, Eric Cutler, Danny Coralles and Joe Trevisano, "The Headless Ritual" is a relentless monster of violent and brutal death metal mastery delivered in the unmistakable AUTOPSY style of chaotic riffing, insane solos and doom-filled interludes, all served with the band's unhinged brand of vocal sickness. The CD was recorded and mixed in April at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California with Adam Munoz.
"The Headless Ritual" track listing:
01. Slaughter At Beast House
02. Mangled Far Below
03. She Is A Funeral
04. Coffin Crawlers
05. When Hammer Meets Bone
06. Thorns And Ashes
07. Arch Cadaver
08. Flesh Turns To Dust
09. Running From The Goathead
10. The Headless Ritual
Said AUTOPSY drummer/vocalist Chris Reifert: "Expect nothing less than the monstrous brutality that AUTOPSY has been known to offer. Laurels will not be rested upon, trends will not be followed and mercy will not be shown. Mark your calendars for July and pick out a coffin to lie down and die in. Darkness and death await..."
AUTOPSY released a DVD, "Born Undead", in June 2012 in the U.S. via Peaceville Records. The set charts AUTOPSY's birth, death and rebirth with an extensive documentary conducted with the bandmembers themselves, as they describe how the beast came to be, and the impact their music has had on the metal world over a span of more than 20 years. The film also documents the band's long-awaited return to the studio and stage, and includes rehearsal footage of both new tracks and old classics for their live comeback assault.
"Macabre Eternal", the first full-length album from AUTOPSY since 1995's "Shitfun", sold around 600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 67 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
AUTOPSY had previously decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th-anniversary edition of debut album, "Severed Survival", in late 2008; the band having originally split before the release of its fourth album, "Shitfun", in 1995.
AUTOPSY is:
Chris Reifert - Drums/Vocals

Joe Trevisano - Bass

US death metal legends AUTOPSY have completed work on their seventh studio album, to be titled Tourniquets, Hacksaws & Graves, and set to be unleashed April 21st (April 29th in North America) via Peaceville Records.
Tourniquets, Hacksaws & Graves was recorded at Fantasy Studios with producer Adam Munoz, and sees a continuation of Autopsy’s pursuit of the ultimate in metallic horror and extremity, featuring the longstanding combo of Eric Cutler and Danny Coralles on guitars, Joe Trevisano on bass and Chris Reifert on drums/vocals.
From all-out death metal savagery to crawling, doom-filled sludgery, Tourniquets, Hacksaws & Graves further pushes the limits of taste and brutality with this latest relentless onslaught of terror from beyond the grave. Artwork comes courtesy of Wes Benscoter, who was also previously responsible for the stunning Macabre Eternal album cover.
Marking thirty years of depravity, highly influential U.S. death metal pioneers AUTOPSY return with the "Puncturing The Grotesque" mini-LP, containing seven tracks of blistering sickness, and their first new material since the pulverizing "Skull Grinder", on December 15.
The release will be available exclusively through the Peaceville store on CD, LP and digitally (with all pre-orders receiving the title track as an instant download).
With the returning lineup of Chris Reifert, Eric Cutler, Danny Coralles and Joe Trevisano, AUTOPSY once more delivers a rancid concoction of slow brooding doom and high-octane metal madness injected with twisted solos and an overdose of vocal insanity.
"Puncturing The Grotesque" was recorded at Earhammer Studios (VIOLATION WOUND), in Oakland, California with engineering and co-production duties carried out by Greg Wilkinson. The delightfully distasteful artwork comes courtesy of Dennis Dread (DARKTHRONE, ABSCESS).
Of the thirtieth anniversary of AUTOPSY, Reifert comments: "Thirty years of AUTOPSY... how the hell did that happen? Seems like just yesterday but somehow a million years ago that a couple of degenerate teenagers formed this beast that still lumbers and lurches around the confines of the studio and the expanse of the world itself. It's hard for us to believe too. Just don't think we're letting you out of the audio noose yet... we still have some of our sickest tricks up our sleeves for your horrific pleasure!"
One of the early breed of U.S. death metal acts, AUTOPSY formed in 1987 in San Francisco and released four albums on Peaceville — beginning with the classic debut, "Severed Survival", in 1989 — before disbanding in 1995, with members going on to form ABSCESS. AUTOPSY triumphantly and officially returned from the grave after a fifteen-year hiatus with the 2010 EP "The Tomb Within". This was followed by the release of the band's fifth studio album, "Macabre Eternal", in 2011, to great acclaim, and the band has subsequently remained at the top of the death metal pile since. The full legacy of AUTOPSY was also recently extensively documented in the book/set "After The Cutting".
"Puncturing The Grotesque" track listing
01. Depths Of Dehumanization
02. Puncturing The Grotesque
03. The Sick Get Sicker
04. Gas Mask Lust
05. Corpses At War
06. Gorecrow
07. Fuck You!!!
In addition to the mini album, there is a special treat for fans of the grotesque: as part of the ongoing seven-inch series marking thirty years of Peaceville comes a new vile treat in the form of a double feature from two titans of death metal — AUTOPSY have teamed up with the Sweden’s kings of gore BLOODBATH to create a limited-edition split seven-inch.
AUTOPSY presents a high-octane version of the none-too-subtly titled "Fuck You!!!", originally known from '80s West Oakland act BLOODBATH (which once featured current AUTOPSY guitarist Danny Coralles). BLOODBATH U.S. was a large inspiration for AUTOPSY in their formative years, and the track is presented here in an exclusive alternate version to that featured on "Puncturing The Grotesque".
BLOODBATH brings us its own nod to the past and inspirations, in the form of a relentless rendition of the CANCER classic "Blood Bath", recorded specially for this release, and giving a clear indication as to where the seeds of their own path to masterful brutality were sown.
AUTOPSY comments: "'Fuck You!!!' is a cover song of a cover song.... and the only song we've ever considered covering. Eric and I loved the version that Danny's old band BLOODBATH did before we even knew Danny, let alone knowing that he'd end up joining AUTOPSY. And Danny didn't even know it was a cover song at the time! Got it? It's a crazy world and a crazy song. It's also a cool tribute to Dane Petersen (R.I.P.), the original BLOODBATH vocalist. We feel we gave it the treatment it deserved... now it's up to you to crank it up and hold those middle fingers high!"
BLOODBATH says: "Most of you would know this already, but for those of you who don’t, it was the title of the first song, on the first album by U.K. death metallers CANCER, which we originally lifted our band name from. Now with Peaceville celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, there would be no better token than offering this cover song to glorify the old-school, brutal and trashy death metal legacy of CANCER fucking CANCER, once more! And as if it couldn't get any better, we've the honor to split these seven inches with gore legends AUTOPSY who also bathe in their own blood!"

Peaceville Records will issue Autopsy’s first official live album, Live In Chicago, on October 30. The album will feature classic tracks form over three decades of depravity and will include a new, unreleased track, “Maggots In The Mirror”. Live In Chicago will out on double gatefold black vinyl and CD format. The track "In The Grip Of Winter" from the upcoming release is available for streaming below.
Live In Chicago was recorded at Reggie’s Rock Club, March 7, 2020, and contains 66 minutes of classics spanning the whole 30+ year career of the death metal legends. The release also notably includes the brand new track “Maggots in the Mirror”, giving fans something to chew on while the impending next studio release takes shape. Due to recent and somewhat unforeseen global events, this stands as Autopsy’s only gig of 2020, out of what was intended to be a string of several appearances. Luckily the show was professionally recorded, unknowing of what was about to follow.
With mixing carried out by Adam Munoz, notable for his work on Autopsy’s studio albums, Live In Chicago captures Autopsy in all of their ferocious, gory glory, with artwork once again conjured from the masterfully warped mind of Wes Benscoter (Slayer, Nile, Kreator).
Every vinyl preorder of Live In Chicago from Peaceville.com will receive the Born Undead DVD release. The DVD features full A History Of Horror, an Autopsy documentary and extensive live footage with a running time of almost 5 hours.
