It’s been three years since Running Wild wowed their fans with their (still) current album Rapid Foray. Three years in which a lot of water has passed under the metal galleys of time and the fans’ requests for new songs have become more and more vociferous. To ease the wait so that his supporters won’t have to hold out until early summer 2020, Running Wild captain Rock´n`Rolf has come up with a real masterstroke: on 6 December 2019 – Saint Nicholas Day! – the band have a special little gift for their fans and will release the EP Crossing The Blades, featuring four brand-new tracks, including an exciting cover of the Kiss classic, ‘Strutter.’First of all, the focus is on the EP’s opener, ‘Crossing The Blades’. What’s so special about this song is the fact that it’s a harbinger of the next regular album, scheduled for release in summer, but will remain unique in its present incarnation. Because, explains Kasparek: “This version will only be available on the Crossing The Blades EP. The album will feature a different version, completely re-recorded and with a number of little changes.” The EP’s second track is called ‘Stargazed’ and should be familiar to a lot of Wacken attendees, after all Running Wild had presented the song exclusively at the 2018 W:O.A, to an enthusiastic response. Number three is the Kiss cover ‘Strutter’, it is a homage to Rolf's first idols, of course in typical Running Wild style and with a little more steam than the original. Last but not least: The new EP closes with ‘Ride On The Wild Side’, which – thanks to its powerful pace and high compositional quality – would almost have made the shortlist for the upcoming album.

Thanks to its first-rate production and a number of exclusive features, these four songs are more than likely to make up the long wait until summer 2020 and the arrival of the next full album. At the same time, they will heighten the anticipation of Running Wild’s new material and their upcoming festival appearances. For Rock´n`Rolf and his band a challenge that they will happily rise to!

Ouais c'est conforme à ce qu'on peut attendre de Running Wild depuis une quinzaine d'années, c'est à dire pas grand chose.
Effectivement le pire est quand même les lignes de chant en pilotage automatique total, encore plus que les riffs déjà entendus 14 000 fois.

Apparemment l'album est prévu pour l'été prochain.

Franchement, j'avais petit espoir parce que le dernier est sympa (dans le style des derniers albums, hein, rien de comparable avec un Black Hand Inn ou un Death or Glory), mais là...

C'est juste un morceau, faut voir l'album entier. Et puis ce morceau sera réenregistré sur l'album, donc on verra.

Je trouve que pour des démos c'est ok, avec un son organique et du groove, des vrais musiciens et quelques arrangements y aurait moyen de faire sonner ces morceaux mais là c'est trop froid et clinique

J'aime bien Stargazed. M'enfin, l'EP n'a rien de folichon, ça reste sympa, sans plus.

Cette photo est ironique pour ne pas dire cruelle tant elle expose parfaitement ce qu'est devenu le "groupe" Running wild : Rolf seul devant son PC et sa table d'enregistrement.

Quelqu'un sait si les instruments ont été enregistré par le line-up annoncé ou si c'est du 100% Rock'n'Rolf (enfin partagé avec Peter Jordann pour la seconde guitare)?

Aucune idée, mais je pencherais plutôt pour la deuxième hypothèse... Tout ce qui est abordé dans les communiqués c'est Rolf qui décrit un solo qu'il a enregistré.

J'ai cherché pour le dernier album parce que j'imagine que ça a dû être le même procédé.

Mouais enfin si c'est comme le dernier, c'est son guitariste qui fait toute la rythmique et lui qui fait le chant et la lead guitare.
J'ai lu qu'il parlait des meilleurs chansons jamais écrites pour le prochain... Il est rigolo le monsieur.
