Live au Rockhard. Sans overdubs je n'y crois pas trop vu comment ça avait l'air approximatif sur ce premier concert, mais en tout cas c'est pas mal du tout :

Ce franky blackfire est vraiment bon. Je trouvais que c était une grosse perte pour Sodom a l époque et un gros plus pour Kreator qui grâce a lui avait franchit un palier .Demesnounet ici pas de hellfess que du sodom.

J'ai zappe la date du Headbangers tour mais je viens de jeter un coup d'oeil a la setlist et elle est bien old school en tout cas. Ils ont exhume pas mal de classiques!

Faut que je prenne le temps d'ecouter cet EP du coup.

Je pense les voir en fest cet ete donc je me ferais un avis sur le vif sur cette nouvelle formation.

Nouvel EP.

German thrash metal veterans SODOM will release a new EP, "Out Of The Frontline Trench", on November 22 via SPV/Steamhammer. The effort contains three brand new tracks as well as new recordings (studio and live) of two SODOM classics.

The official lyric video for the song "Down On Your Knees", taken from "Out Of The Frontline Trench", can be seen below.

Frontman Thomas "Angelripper" Such comments: "Postcards and letters from my granddad, which I discovered among the things he left behind when he died, and some TV documentaries have given me a vague idea of what it must have been like for soldiers back in those days to leave their trenches and face those life-threatening battles."

The close relationship between a metal band and its fans can be measured by — among other things — how long the group makes its supporters wait for new songs. So looking at it from that perspective, SODOM is definitely exemplary seeing that it has always supplied their huge following with new material at regular intervals. The release of their current album, "Decision Day", was followed — in time for their major European tour in December 2018 — by the "Partisan" EP.

Now the Gelsenkirchen thrash metal act led by figurehead Such (vocals, bass) presents itself from its generous side again: Even before work on their upcoming album is set to commence, SODOM are ready to unleash their brand-new mini-album, "Out Of The Frontline Trench". Tom calls the recording "a sign of life for our fans," having cut, together with his guitarists Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik (also formerly of KREATOR, ASSASSIN) and Yorck Segatz (BEYONDITION) plus drummer Stefan "Husky" Hüskens (ASPHYX, DESASTER), three new songs as well as two classics (one of them re-recorded, the other one a live number), "Out Of The Frontline Trench" forging an arch between SODOM's past, present and future.

Thrash teutonique, son old school bien corrosif.

Premier extrait du prochain album, on croirait un retour à Persecution Mania, jusque dans le son.
Old school à mort donc, peut-être même trop car juste partiellement convaincu pour ma part sur ce titre, pas mauvais mais il manque encore un truc. La pochette est classe en tout cas.

Je trouve ce premier titre plutôt sympa, par contre la prod enregistrée en mono -c'est vraiment l'impression que ça me donne- c'est moyen.

Effectivement tres old school, tres 80s ce titre. Pour l'instant, je le trouve sympa, sans plus, on retrouve le son Persecution Mania, mais sans la folie.

Cela dit, je suis vraiment curieux de l'entendre cet album, j'avais bien aime Partisan l'EP qu'ils avaient sorti avec le nouveau line up, le cote "evil" un peu black metal m'avait bien plu. J'ai vu qu'entre temps, ils ont change de batteur, ce qui est sûrement une bonne chose vu comment le dernier etait a la ramasse en live l'ete dernier.

Dans le cadre d'un nouvel EP.

Germany thrash metal legends, Sodom, have released their Bombenhagel EP via Steamhammer/SPV. The EP, available on CD, 12” vinyl and for digital download, includes one re-recorded classic and two brand new songs.

Tom Angelripper talks about the re-recording of "Bombenhagel": “I wanted a recording of our old classic by the new lineup. Of course that was really special with a drummer such as Toni and two stringsmen. This new arrangement of our anthem definitely holds a few surprises in store." Not forgetting an awesome guitar solo courtesy of Harris Johns, who as a producer also guested on the Persecution Mania version of "Bombenhagel": “Harris practically insisted on contributing a special kind of solo, in line with his outstanding skill. Naturally, that’s been a real pleasure for us because we’re all aware of what he’s done for us. Without Harris, Sodom wouldn’t be where we are today.”
