Leur guitariste se barre. Apparemment, il ne supportait plus le rythme des tournées...

Swedish metallers SOILWORK, who recently completed the LAMB OF GOD/KILLSWITCH ENGAGE U.S. tour in support of their new album "Sworn To A Great Divide", have decided to part ways with guitarist Ola Frenning.

It was felt that Ola resisted the demands of the road and found it difficult to come to terms with the amount of touring scheduled.

"Sworn To A Great Divide" is SOILWORK's fastest seller and the live demand for the band is growing. They intend to play everywhere and fulfill the album's potential.

Vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid says: "It was a very difficult decision to make because Ola has been our friend and bandmate for a very long time."

The decision will not affect any of SOILWORK's plans. Guitarist David Andersson will fill in on their upcoming Finnish/Baltic tour as well as the "Scum Of The Earth" U.S. tour with THROWDOWN. The band will then tour Australia, Japan and Southeast Asia before returning to Europe for festivals and a headlining U.S. tour in the fall.

Ola Frenning comments: "After 10 years, seven albums and several world wide tours, we've realized that we have developed in different directions and have a different set of values, profession wise. The disagreements have reached their peak and it has become an untenable situation. The band's solution is that I part ways with them so that I won't be in the way for the future plans of SOILWORK. However, since I'm not gonna be on the road (at least for a while), I will now be able to continue with my songwriting and producing at another level. For further information, visit http://www.myspace.com/olafrenning. The page will be updated in the near future. Cheers to ya all... And thanks for making these 10 years with the band memorable."

Vocalist Björn "Speed" Strid of the Swedish metallers SOILWORK has issued the following update:

"Let me just say that I'm super excited to have Peter [Wichers, guitar] back in the band. We've done good but he has surely been missed. We have been on the phone together just about every day for a month and to actually scratch the surface of him returning to the band made me a very happy dude and now it's for real. Very excited to have Mr. Sylvain Coudret (SCARVE) in the band as well. Can't wait to get our pumped minds on tour!

"It's really awesome to see all the amazing response about [Peter's] return and it feels like everything is coming together.

"I understand that people speculate about Ola [Frenning, guitar] returning to the band in times like these. Let me just clarify one thing: we made the decision for Ola to leave the band. There's a reason why we released him from his duties as a guitar player in this band and he will not return. I guess that people might have got the wrong picture about his departure but there's a clear difference between leaving a band and being asked to leave. There's nothing negative to be said about his time spent as a member of SOILWORK, I'm only trying to put things into perspective.

"My heart is more ready than ever to get back on that stage this fall with my brothers and I'm very excited about what Sylvain is going to bring to the table working together with Peter. This is going to be a dynamic guitar duo for sure!"
Listenable Records has announced plans to re-release the classic first albums from Swedish metallers SOILWORK. "Steelbath Suicide" (1998) and "The Chainheart Machine" (1999) will be reissued in deluxe super jewelcases with revamped artwork and contain various bonus tracks. Out of print for a while, these re-releases are a "must-have for any SOILWORK fan who missed the originals while the various bonus materials make it worth for die-hard fans to get these gems again," the label says in a press release.
