Ça manque trop de rythme et d'émotion, même s'il articule tous les mots, et c'est plus que limite sur certains passages...
'fin bon, à chaque fois que je l'entends je me dis que son style ne colle pas du tout à l'hymne et qu'il devrait arrêter, même si j'aime bien le cri à l'arrache à la fin.

Complètement à l'ouest je trouve.

Il le joue quand même très bien au fond, enfin à sa façon, mais dès qu'il se lâche à la fin et fait son Malmsteen c'est plus possible

Sa mort, quelques jours après le Superbowl, a fait que les Américains ont pas mal ressorti cette version de Whitney Houston, considérée comme le maître étalon des renditions de l'hymne (à noter néanmoins qu'il s'agit de playback, elle l'avait enregistré en studio quelques jours avant). Les circonstances étaient particulières en plus, c'était au tout début de la première guerre du Golfe, avec des menaces terroristes sur le match et une sécurité renforcée comme il n'y en avait jamais eu auparavant autour du match. A noter également que l'enregistrement est passé sur les ondes radio après, ce qui lui a valu une entrée bien placée dans le Billboard.

Nuno Bettencourt et Gary Cherone d'Extreme chantant l'hymne national ce samedi avant le match de baseball Tampa Bay Rays / Boston Red Sox (à Boston évidemment). Très chouette version, le moins qu'on puisse attendre avec ces deux-là

C'est au tour de Joey Belladonna (ANTHRAX) de proposer son rendu de l'hymne américain :

ANTHRAX frontman Joey Belladonna sang the U.S. national anthem last night (Friday, April 5) at the Chicago Bulls vs. Orlando Magic game at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. You can now watch fan-filmed video footage of his performance below. ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian tweeted after the game: "Yep, he nailed it!!!"

Back in December 2004, Belladonna received poor reviews for his performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks National Football League (NFL) game at the Minneapolis Metrodome.

"I knew it was going to be a screwy afternoon when the national anthem singer — a scraggly-haired relic from an '80s heavy metal band — butchered the words," Tom Powers of the St. Paul Pioneer Press wrote at the time. "And that's hard to do because they are displayed on the jumbo scoreboard."

"Anthems", ANTHRAX's long-awaited, eight-track EP that pays tribute to the classic songs by some of the band's favorite acts from the 1970s, sold around 8,500 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 52 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was released in North America on March 19 (MRI/Megaforce), and on March 22 in Europe (Nuclear Blast).

Pas mal du tout la performance de Belladonna, rien d'extraordinaire ou différent mais il la passe.

On continue au sein de la Bay Area, avec James et Kirk proposant leur interprétation en guise d'introduction au match des Giants de San Francisco Vendredi dernier, les guitares flanquées pour l'occasion ont ensuite été signées et les bénéfices acquis à travers la vente aux enchères reversés à des organisations de charité :

This past Friday (May 3) was declared Metallica Night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, home of baseball's San Francisco Giants. According to a press release issued by the team, members of METALLICA participated in pre-game festivities which included throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and guitarists James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett performing the National Anthem. The custom Giants-themed guitars that were played by the pair were signed immediately following the National Anthem and auctioned off at the Giants Community Clubhouse, with proceeds being shared by the Giants Community Fund and the Bill Graham Memorial Foundation.

In honor of Metallica Night, San Francisco Giants pitcher Barry Zito came by the band's headquarters in San Rafael, California to jam with the band.

Following recent live dates in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates, METALLICA performed on Thursday night (May 2) at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles, where the group was also honored as "Golden Gods."

The band is also gearing up to headline its second annual Orion Music + More festival, scheduled for June 8-9 in Detroit.
