MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx was a featured speaker at the 18th annual National
Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month luncheon on Thursday, September 6 on
Capitol Hill. Sixx is the first rock musician ever invited to share his story of
surviving addiction at such an event. Sixx was invited by the National
Association of Alcoholism & Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and will speak
alongside Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
Administrator Terry Cline and Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Director H.
Westley Clark M.D.
Watch video footage of Sixx's appearance on Capitol Hill below.
Sixx will publish "The Heroin Diaries" on September 18. The book is taken from
actual journals Sixx kept in the late '80s while in the grip of a near-fatal
heroin addiction.
A soundtrack album, which Sixx recorded under the name SIXX: A.M., came out last
month. It debuted on the Billboard album chart at No. 63, selling 11,000 copies.
Twenty-five percent of Sixx's royalties from the book will go to Running Wild In
The Night, a charity he established in conjunction with Covenant House to rescue
homeless and runaway youth from the streets.
Sixx will go on a publicity tour to sign copies of the book, beginning on
September 18 at Borders in the Westwood district of Los Angeles.

Ca y est TOMMY a quité MOTLEY CRUE
An employee of Club Stereo in Southampton, New York where former MÖTLEY CRÜE
drummer Tommy Lee DJed on August 31, 2007 told the New York Post that "[Tommy]
loves [DJing]. He's not going to be in a band again. He's totally focused on
being a DJ now. He's totally devoted and hasn't talked about anything else."
Tommy Lee's departure from MÖTLEY CRÜE was revealed in the the amended complaint
filed earlier this week by MÖTLEY CRÜE against artist manager Carl Stubner and his
three companies Sanctuary Group, Inc., Sanctuary Artist Management, Inc. and Carl
Stubner Productions, Inc..
In a recent interview with Clubplanet.com, Tommy insisted that he was "actually
kinda over rock music. If I sit down to write a song, it's definitely gonna have
beats.but just the old drum sound or cheesy rock guitars.I'm just like, ugh! I'm
just tired of the same-ole."
Asked if there is an aspect of DJing that satisfies him as a musician that he
can't find playing in a band, Lee said, "Yeah, it's the sounds. You sit there and
you play a rock concert, and it's loud 'n' banging. But the electronic sound hits
so much harder and there's something about the bass [in electronic music] that
freaks me out! If you go to a club, you'll find me standing in front of the
sub-woofers! [laughs] That's something that comes from DJing that I don't get from
playing rock music, that big bass and gorgeous analog sound. Those sounds don't
come from drums or guitars.those sounds only come from electronic drums or
synthesizers! It's a whole new set of sounds you can't get with a rock band.
Listen, I love rock. But with electronic, I get to taste all the flavors."

Vince Neil played Seacrets located in Ocean City, MD on Thursday (9/13).
During his set, Vince accidentally hit his head on one of the PA speakers
resulting in a nasty cut . In true rock and roll fashion, Vince kept performing
as if nothing happened. Vince reportedly checked into a nearby hospital after
the show and received 6 sitches.

Et maintenant un divorce
---
MSNBC.com reports: In a hearing to determine how to divide assets in the divorce of Nikki Sixx and Donna D'Errico, the MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist testified Thursday (September 20) that he was told his former model-actress wife previously worked as a prostitute and a stripper, and that she was a spendthrift. "I heard she was doing high-end call girl work," Sixx said. "I was freaking out. Your head starts to spin. We have a child together."
D'Errico, Playboy Playmate of the Month September 1995 and a former "Baywatch" cast member, married Sixx on Dec. 23, 1996. According to Sixx, they first met on a blind date arranged by MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee, who was once married to another "Baywatch" star, Pamela Anderson. D'Errico, 39, filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court in April 2006 and the marriage was officially over in June.
Sixx, 48, was testifying for the second straight day in what D'Errico's lawyer, G. Darrell Berglund, said is a non-jury trial concerning financial issues and property division. He said he also is seeking to uncover assets allegedly hidden by Sixx and to protect his client from what he called "character assassination."
Asked outside the courtroom about Sixx's statements, Berglund said, "We are amused by the comments." He said D'Errico is a religious woman whose entire life centers around her children.
Sixx — dressed in a coat, tie, jeans and tennis shoes — testified a madam told him about D'Errico while the band was touring last fall with AEROSMITH. Sixx said that when he asked the madam for proof, she gave him names and other information that led him to believe she was telling the truth. One of the names was of a man who he knew to be a Las Vegas pimp, Sixx said. Sixx also testified he was stunned to find out that D'Errico worked years earlier as a stripper in Texas and Las Vegas. "I was hurt and I was in shock," Sixx said. "I said, 'Wait a minute, she didn't tell me that."'
