According to PatriotLedger.com, AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry was released from Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton, Massachusetts at 4:30 p.m. today after receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Perry was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a motor vehicle at 2 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Perry was struck at the intersection of routes 44 and 105 and was taken by ambulance to Morton Hospital and Medical Center.
Middleboro police said Perry was eastbound on a Ducati motorcycle when he stopped at a set of lights at the interstection of routes 44 and 105. The light turned green, Perry accelerated, and was rear-ended by a 2001 Chevy Malibu.
The driver of that car, 62-year-old Linda O'Brien of Middleboro, was cited for following a vehicle too closely.

Regarding the reports that Tyler has supposedly agreed to appear on the new season of "American Idol", Perry told Cowhead, "I had just finished doing a ton of interviews with [Steven], I would have thought he would have said something. . .
"I was taken totally by surprise.
"First of all, why would he wanna do that instead of cruise on with AEROSMITH? We've got an album that we wanna do, we wanna do another tour, we wanna go back to South America, we wanna do Japan... We've got so many things lined up, and then this happens.
"So many things go through your head.
"I've been with the guy for 40 years, and he couldn't even... He said, 'Well, they told me not to tell anybody.'
"I've been your partner for 40 years and you can't tell me?! What do you think — I'm gonna call the paper up immediately? Besides, who cares?! It's all over the Internet. The rumors always get out there and people start to believe it.
"Again, the four of us were in shock. It was a replay of last year, except this time he had a job.
"We [Steven and I] used to take vacations together at the same place with our kids — when our kids were 6, 7, 8, 9 years old, we'd go off with the whole family and the nannies and go places for two weeks. We'd go to Maui, we'd go to the Carribean. We'd do stuff together, and we still would. We'd go air gliding, whatever they call that.
"Over the last couple of years, it's just been getting stranger and stranger.
"If that's what you really have to do, let's talk about it, let's plan it out, you know what I mean?! We've all got families, we've all got different things going on, we've all got different things we could do.
"It's like getting hit over the head."
The relationship between Tyler and the rest of AEROSMITH has been a strained one of late, and earlier this year there were rumors that the rest of the band was looking for a new vocalist.

QMI Agency: Could these be the last Aerosmith shows ever?
Perry: "Frankly and truthfully, I don't know what's going to happen after our last gig in Vancouver. But about 15 years ago, I had an epiphany - I can't remember why - and realized we're mortal. And I have to play every night like it's the last show. So that's how I've been playing it. On top of that, you know, what with the accidents we've had and some of the other stuff, we're playing the shows like they are the last.'
QMI Agency: So American Idol isn't going to kill the band?
Perry: "No. When this tour is over, even if he wasn't doing the show, we would be taking off up until Christmas. We just need some time off ... And he's chosen to take the next four months and do this TV show. More power to him if that's what he wants to do. I've gone off and had my own band and put out my own records. I plan to do more of that. And hopefully we'll find the time to make an Aerosmith record. I'm not sure when that's going to happen. But I'm an optimist (and) we're planning positively. There's got to be another Aerosmith record."
QMI Agency: What about getting a temporary replacement for Steven? Is that off the table?
Perry: "Nothing has changed. I don't know what his schedule is. I don't know what he is planning on doing. But if January rolls around and he's involved in some project, we'll find another singer. Why not?"
QMI Agency: Well, didn't he threaten legal action last time?
Perry: "Well, he can threaten to sue anybody. But it's four votes against one. And we have a pretty strong case if he wants to go that way. Bottom line is, how can he stop the four of us from wanting to go out and play?"

Tim Taylor of JAM Magazine Online recently conducted an interview with AEROSMITH drummer Joey Kramer. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
JAM Magazine Online: It seems as though a great deal of the rock memoirs released today, from Nikki Sixx to Ozzy Osbourne, use the central of theme drug abuse and sex to tell their stories. What makes Joey Kramer's tales of drugs, sex and rock and roll any different from all the other sordid tales by rock stars?
Kramer: My story is different from the others you mentioned because it's not just a rock n' roll memoir. It's more about my life story, and the trials and tribulations of all the wonderful things that life has to offer. Alcoholism, anxiety and depression affect people in all walks of life. Surviving it is the key, and my book tells how I got through those very traumatic periods when I truly was living on the edge. Honestly, how I beat these addictions are the parts of the book that really seem to be helping folks the most. My story lets people know you don't have to be a rock star to crash and burn. People in recovery all have their own unique story's dealing with the dark side of life. The one thing we all have in common is the pain we share. My goal with the book is to show people that no situation is hopeless as opposed to your typical rock memoir that glamorizes the good and bad times of addiction.
JAM Magazine Online: One of the most intriguing aspects of your book is your relationship with Steven Tyler. You, Tom and Steven have been through hell and back the entire history of this band. You refer to your friendship with the band's only singer as one of a loving, brother type of situation that has its share of demons.
Kramer: Steven and I have a very "earthy" connection between us. Whatever it is he's become to me — it's because I allow it. I own up to that fact in the book. Has he taken advantage of friendship over the years? Yes. Has he abused our friendship? Yes. But bear this in mind. Whatever Steven and I have been through, I take the responsibility for allowing the bad, and the good, to have transpired between us. The only way to change that situation was to draw certain boundaries, and keep them up, when it comes to dealing with Steven — or anyone else in this band for that matter.
JAM Magazine Online: You seem a different person just making the statement you just did.
Kramer: If you let somebody take advantage of you — or if you let somebody make you a doormat — that's your own fault. Nobody else can fix that problem except you. I'm responsible for my own actions. Steven knew how to manipulate me, and he did it for years. It's those instances when he became my own personal demon. On the flip side, I have been very blessed to have Steven Tyler in my life. He taught me more about music, and myself, than you'll ever know. I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned about life itself from him. Pretty much from the beginning, Steven has been a very dynamic force in AEROSMITH. I just sort of sat back behind the drums and kept the music on track while he did his thing. Over the years, I finally came into my own, and I'm very grateful for Steven easing me into the rôle I've taken. I love him dearly, don't get me wrong. We are brothers to the end and get along famously despite the politics that's always going on in AEROSMITH. We love each other; we get mad each other. There are days we get along great, and times we need space from one another. The two of us have been through the ringer more times than I care to count the past 40 years. At this point in our lives, it has become almost comical to witness the ridiculous things that transpire in this band. But hey, it wouldn't be AEROSMITH if there wasn't some sort of drama swirling around us.
JAM Magazine Online: How difficult was it for you to watch your friend and colleague go through his recent troubles, to the point where you had to call him out in the press?
Kramer: Those problems Steven was having was the reason I called him out. Watching him trying to cope with his personal demons was a very difficult thing to do. However, I want to go on the record saying I'm really proud of him for doing what he did. Not a lot of people have the courage and strength to confront the problems he had. A lot of people would have just thrown up their hands, given way to temptation, and whatever happens, happens. Again, I'm extremely proud of Steven for tackling his problems head on, and for the band for standing behind him. At this point in time, I'm convinced the only thing that could get in the way of AEROSMITH continuing on is if somebody dies.

AEROSMITH bassist Tom Hamilton told Jed Gottlieb of BostonHerald.com that new "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler will continue fronting the band in addition to fulfilling his "Idol" obligations.
"Steven's been very emphatic in saying that the way his time is arranged on the show leaves room to work on a record," Hamilton said. “He's been taking great pains to remind everybody of that, so hopefully that's the way it will come out."
Hamilton admitted being a little nervous about "Idol" possibly increasing the ongoing friction among band members after a decade filled with injuries, illness and infighting.
"There's a lot of not knowing what's going to happen, but that's how it's always been for us," Hamilton said. "I'm not sitting here thinking that (Tyler on 'American Idol') is not going to work for us. Steven is an incredible I-can-do-anything kind of guy. But he's taken a big bite, and I'm looking forward to seeing him chew it."

Actor JOHNNY DEPP is writing songs with AEROSMITH frontman STEVEN TYLER. "We've been hanging out here and there. He's someone I've admired greatly for such a long time. The idea of writing songs with him is a dream come true," Depp has revealed. Tyler's debut solo single, '(It) Feels So Good', was released May 10th via Columbia.
