Fields of Rock 2008: Camping Out Loud!

In just over six months it'll be time for: Fields of Rock! The 2008 edition of the camping festival Fields of Rock takes place in the weekend of 20, 21, 22 June. During this weekend, the grounds of Walibi World in Biddinghuizen will quake with the hardest rock, the hippest metal and loads of great activities for all rock-music lovers.
And, contrary to the previous edition, bands will be performing on the Fields of Rock stage on Friday night.
So, block out the weekend of 20, 21 and 22 June 2008 in your diaries, and check this website regularly for the latest on Fields of Rock 2008! More news on the artists and the pre-sale of tickets will follow soon.

This year, Fields of Rock will take place on 20, 21 and 22 June on the Evenemententerrein of Walibi World in Biddinghuizen. On Saturday and Sunday some 30 bands will play on three stages: the Mean Stage, the Temple of Rock and The Powerfest Stage. On Friday 20 June, five more bands will perform. On Friday, at around 6 p.m., One Bullet Left will kick off the festival in the Temple of Rock. Later on we will announce the times and places of the other performances. Of course, like every year, there will be a festival camping, where more music and entertainment can be enjoyed. Tickets for Fields of Rock will be on sale starting Saturday 23 February. Please check this web site for further details.
The stage that used to be the Rage Stage for the last editions will be replaced by The Powerfest Stage in 2008. After two successful indoor editions of The Powerfest, this popular festival will join the Fields of Rock. On the new outdoor stage punk, hardcore, emo and extreme metal bands will be performing. But, rest assured, these bands will also play on the other two stages. The Powerfest is proud to be camping out loud with its big metal brother!

Fucking Hell, Pascal...
'Bij Prong zag ik je nog, onlangs, in de W2, goedgemutst als altijd.
Ik denk dat ook jij het een superoptreden vond. Natuurlijk was je daar, waar goede muziek is ben jij.
Vorig jaar op Fields of Rock draaide je nog op de vrijdag, met je collega Groefridder, AC/DC voorop natuurlijk, als een van je favorieten.
Jaaaren ken ik je al en als we elkaar tegenkwamen, keken we elkaar in de ogen, schudden handen en wisten dat het goed was. Onze verbintenis is de liefde voor rock, heavy rock, classic rock, metal... Whatever, gewoon goeie muziek. Soms emailde of MSN´de je me : 'AC/DC in Nijmegen? Doet Slayer clubshows? Van Halen op Arrow?'
Nee Pascal, was het maar waar...
Maar eens zal het gebeuren. En ook al ben je niet meer hier, ik weet dat je er bij zult zijn Pascal, met een biertje in ons hand....

Because of the lack of headliners leading to disappointing ticket sales, we are very sorry to inform you that Fields of Rock 2008 is cancelled. This very difficult decision was made eventually, because it wouldn’t have been wise to continue with this edition of the Fields of Rock festival both financially and creatively. We offer our sincere apologies to Fields of Rock visitors who had already bought their tickets for this edition. Tickets for Fields of Rock 2008 can be returned until 1 July next.
About 35 bands were programmed to perform at Fields of Rock 2008. This year, the organisation also made an extra investment to enhance the festival’s atmosphere and fringe programme. This meant Fields of Rock was heading for a new direction. Unfortunately, the major headliners, the artists who attract large numbers of visitors, weren’t available for the weekend of 20, 21, and 22 of June. Although the organisation had been working on a great programme since the fall of 2007, it appears Fields of Rock doesn’t fit the touring schedules of the big bands. Therefore, the decision to cancel the festival was made out of necessity rather than by choice. At this moment, alternative gigs are looked into for a number of bands. News about these developments will follow.
People who bought tickets for Fields of Rock 2008 can return them to the pre-sale box offices they were bought at, until 1 July 2008. Visitors with a TicketFast ticket will be informed by TSN through email. All people who had already bought tickets will qualify for a € 5 discount for the next edition of Fields of Rock. In order to apply for this discount, they need to send a mail to tickets@fieldsofrock.nl, before 1 June 2008, stating their names and the unique ticket number that is printed on the front of the ticket. Prior to the pre-sale of the next edition of Fields of Rock, they will receive a personal invitation to buy a ticket with the said discount.

Yep, je pense pareil. Pour tout truc qui marche, dans tous les domaines, y a ensuite une multitude d'offres, normal, vu que ca marche, autant essayer de recuperer des billes. Et comme dans tous les domaines, à un moment ca sature, et seuls les meilleurs restent... Surtout dans une periode de crise latente, ou on regarde les frais, ou les prix sont de plus en plus elevés, y a des choix à faire... Donc apres le Schwung et le Earthshaker, le Fields.. Dommage, mais previsible, et je pense aussi que ce ne sera pas le dernier
