En tant qu'inconditionnel de Dokken jusqu'à UP from the ashes je ne suis pas vraiment emballé ! Je trouve que Don à sacrément perdu la péche vocalement parlant , c'est plat .

In addition to the regular European version of DOKKEN's new album, "Lightning Strikes Again", on April 11, Frontiers Records will release a special limited edition of the CD in a glossy slipcase. The limited-edition version will include an exclusive bonus track for Europe, entitled "Sunset Superstar".

"Lightning Strikes Again" is DOKKEN's tenth studio album and it "marks a true and definite return" to the band's classic sound, according to a press release. 'We have been more focused on this project than any we've done in years," says singer Don Dokken. "Yes, it has taken a long time but in the end the fans will have a DOKKEN CD that is as good as any we did in the '80s. Our goal is to deliver a CD that will shake up the rock world... and so far everyone says it is the best DOKKEN CD since '86. It's time that a band from our era did something special and prove that our brand of music is still valid. And I think we're close. If it does not have success, it won't be because we didn't give it a thousand percent effort."

"Lightning Strikes Again" was mixed by Wyn Davis (DIO, GREAT WHITE) and it features the following track listing:

De son côté George Lynch prévoie une reformation pour l'an prochain! Pour la 74ème fois.

On his efforts to bring the original DOKKEN lineup back together:

Lynch: "The other thing that might be happening, which I've been trying to get together for the last few years, is a DOKKEN reunion. I would bet money that maybe next year it might happen. It's hard to say. But it almost happened this year. I think where it fell apart is that... for one thing, Jeff [Pilson, bass] wasn't going to be in the band, so it already would have been [just] three of the original four members, and secondly, we'd have to be opening for WARRANT [on a bill that was also to include CINDERELLA in the headlining slot], which… I didn't think that was right. Not saying anything about WARRANT, but with us coming back with original members, I think that was strong enough for us to be at least a second [on the bill], if not a headliner. Don [Dokken] had a problem with that, and I agree with him to a certain extent. So I think next year, we'll maybe get together — all four members, including Jeff Pilson. We'll see."

Lynch rappelle qu'il est toujours partant pour la reformation, et que le management de Don Dokken ne semblait pas désintéréssé, contrairement à ce qu'il affirme.

When asked about the possibility of a DOKKEN reunion with him on guitar, Lynch said, "I did an interview yesterday with Metal Hammer [magazine] in Europe and the guy had just spoken to Don [Dokken]. And Don's response to that same question was the interviewer told me was that this is all coming from George, nobody else has any interest. Now that is absolutely not true. The actual truth is that, yes, my management company has been instrumental in encouraging this to happen, and I'm all for it. But everybody else has agreed in principle at three different occasions over the past few years at looking into doing this to try to put it together and have it make sense. And for various reasons it has not happened. But to characterize this as I'm the one that is pounding the table, and everyone else is reluctant astronauts is completely false. My management company would get a hold of Don and he'd say, 'Yeah, I'm down. Let's see what we can put together.' We've tried to put various tours together and recording sessions together and different reformations and all that, we've had VH1 on board, our own show, record deals, reasonably good tours and other things. For one reason or another, it doesn't happen in the 11th hour. And that's OK, but he mischaracterized it and was being untruthful about that. Just to set the record straight, I'm always down. Of course, this is a business, and I'd love to see some closure of the DOKKEN thing for myself, the fans, and the band before I hang my guitar up."

De ce que j'ai vu récemment en vidéo, le Don Dokken a l'air de s'être refait une santé....
Il a en plus pris la guitare rythmique et ca donne vraiment bien!!!

J'en ai écouté des bouts et j'ai bien aimé. Je l'ai trouvé un peu dans le même esprit que les derniers WASP et White Lion, avec de bons riffs à la fois hard et mélodiques et un très bon son.

Faut voir, Dokken j'ai tous les albums mais je les écoute jamais.
Je trouve ça bien mais j'ai jamais envie de les écouter ... y 'a toujours un moment où ça va me saouler.

Les 3 premiers...

Ben le premier en dehors du morceau "Breakin the chains" je le trouve pas super ...
Le Tooth and nail est génial (mon préféré)
Le Under Lock and Key est tres bon (mais la prod est un peu limite limite ...)

Par contre il te faut le Back for the attack , rien que pour "Kiss of death"

L'album solo de Don Dokken de 1990 mentioné ci-dessus "Up from the ashes" est dans la lignée des deux Dokken précédants en plus light ... avec Jon Norum à la guitare.

Les années 90 de Dokken faut pas m'en parler ... les derniers albums avec George lynch j'aime pas du tout.
Le "Erase the slate" avec Reb beach contient de bons titres ... mais est pas inoubliable.
Le suivant avec John Norum (celui avec l'ange sur la pochette) ... idem

En revanche , les 2 deniers, je connais pas.

Comme aux tout débuts du groupe si je ne m'abuse? J'avais vu des vieilles vidéos de DOKKEN avec Don à la guitare, ça m'avait étonné.
