Long-defunct St. Louis, Missouri-based progressive/melodic thrash metal band ANACRUSIS will have its classic 1987 demo, "Annihilation Complete", released this month via Stormspell Records. This limited-edition CD/DVD package features the full nine-song "Annihilation Complete" demo along with other rare recordings from the band's basement days.

"Annihilation Complete" was voted "Best Demo of 1987" by the readers of Metal Forces magazine and was later included in the publication's "Demolition... Scream Your Brains Out!" compilation album. This led to a deal with England-based indie Active Records, for whom ANACRUSIS recorded its first album, "Suffering Hour". A sophomore LP, "Reason", followed in 1990 and was supported by touring with D.R.I. In 1991, ANACRUSIS released "Manic Impressions" through Metal Blade Records and toured with OVERKILL, GALACTIC COWBOYS and MEGADETH. They devoted the next few months to writing new material, and released their final album, "Screams and Whispers", in 1993.

"We're finally finishing up recording the final tracks for the 'new' ANACRUSIS CD. The title of the album will be 'Hindsight: Suffering Hour & Reason Revisited'. The two-CD set will feature both our debut album, 'Suffering Hour', and our second release, 'Reason', along with the classic ANACRUSIS demo track 'Apocalypse', all fully re-recorded by the original lineup of Kenn Nardi, Kevin Heidbreder, John Emery and Mike Owen. The package will also feature a 24-page, full-color booklet with lyrics and lots of photos both old and new.
"Both of these classic albums have been out of print for many years, and we hope old fans and new will find some new life in these re-recorded songs.
"The excellent cover art is being created by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, SIGH, MEKONG DELTA, GWAR)
"Mixing is nearly complete and mastering will be handled by Maor Appelbaum who has worked with Yngwie Malmsteen, Rob Halford, Dave Ellefson's F5 and many, many more.
"We are still working out details of where the album will be available, but there should be copies on-hand for our appearance at the Keep It True XIII festival in Germany this coming April."
cool je n'ai que "suffering hour" mais ça fait une paye que je ne l'ai pas réécouté. En tous les cas ce groupe avait une démrche bien originale, c'était vraiment bon.

Je l'ai pris au KIT. Pas vu encore le DVD, et ppour le CD le son est vraiment roots. Perso, ça me dérange pas, mais les adeptes du gros son peuvent fuir comme la peste cet album de démo et raretés.
au keep it true, c'est très très dur de se contrôler.(impossible en fait!) Et puis vu que c'était ma dernière découverte pré keep it true, et étant donné l'énergie déployé sur scène, j'ai été presque forcé de le prendre. (.....avec 26 autres albums. Mais bon, là j'achète plus rien jusqu'au metal market du hellfest.)
En tout cas, une bien belle découverte que ce Anacrusis. Bien dommage qu'ils se contentent de faire que quelques concerts, et ne se remette pas à composer.
Sur le papier, et de ce que j'en connais (pas grand-chose...), j'aurais dû être emballé par ce groupe au KIT. Mais j'ai pas réussi à rentrer dedans... j'ai pas trop fait d'effort faut dire aussi.
Mais bon, là j'achète plus rien jusqu'au metal market du hellfest.)
