Checking in from Gothenburg/Sweden, where we are about to lay final touches to the upcoming album at Studio Fredman.
Feels great to finalize this monster project that kept us breathless and busy for the past seven months, and I dare say it sounds absolutely amazing so far. This is going to be a damn catchy and intense album. Furious, epic, heavy & wolfish to the max!
Some more days of metal and mayhem ahead here in Sweden until we can send white smoke through the studio chimney... exiting times!
Can't wait until this beast of an album gets unleashed upon you this summer...

Multinational metallers POWERWOLF have completed work on their fifth album, "Preachers Of The Night", for a a summer release via Napalm Records. According to the band, "There [is] fast stuff, heavy stuff and epic stuff as well as some unholy little surprises — and all of that in the most typical, powerwolfish way you can imagine."

Bon bah très bon album comme d'habitude! Ils ont un putain de sens de la mélodie ces gars là. Par contre, faut reconnaître que c'est toujours la même recette et qu'on se lasse assez vite. Dès la 1ère écoute, j'avais la moitié des titres en tête!
Pour ceux qui ont aimé jusqu'à maintenant, au moins êtes vous sûrs d'aimer ce nouveau disque!

Metal Blade Records has announced three POWERWOLF releases for June 24th. First off there will be The History Of Heresy, a massive box set containing two CDs, one DVD and then some.
The box set includes:
• Special sized hardcover box with embossment, faint laminated
• 112-page hardcover book with liner notes, retrospective, tour and studio reports, all written by the band members. Loads of previously unpublished photos
• Three cover sleeves
• Lupus Dei CD including five live bonus tracks
• Return In Bloodred CD including three live bonus tracks
• The Wacken Worship bonus DVD
• Five photo cards with info on each band member
Powerwolf comments: "Feels great to feature our early works in the form of such a great boxset. Working on the book The History Of Heresy brought back so many great memories - and more than ever taught us to be grateful. Grateful for having such wonderful fans and such great supporters, without whom none of this would have happened. Powerwolf will release "The History Of Heresy II" 3 disc box set on October 24th, 2014 via Metal Blade Records.
The second part of "The History Of Heresy" features the "Bible Of The Beast" and "Blood Of The Saints" albums with bonus tracks, plus "The Sacrilege Symphony" orchestra album and the second part of an autobiographic hardcover book.
The book, "The History Of Heresy," includes 128 pages full of candid stories, as well as tour and studio reports.

The Danish band Awesome Mr. Powerwolf is changing its name to Redwolves to avoid any legal issues with the German power metal band Powerwolf. Vocalist Rasmus Cundell comments:
"When we named our band back in 2008, we didn’t know of the band Powerwolf. After a break from late 2009 to early 2012, we started rehearsing again, with all new members, and by then we knew about Powerwolf, but we didn’t think it would ever be a problem, since we don’t play the same genre of music at all.
"Powerwolf now own the rights to that name and we thought it would be best to avoid any confusion or legal issues with the band, so we changed our name.”
Redwolves, under the name Awesome Mr. Powerwolf, released an EP titled ”Wake Up” in late 2013. Stay tuned for more developments on the band.
