Danish metallers MERCENARY have completed work on their sixth studio album with
producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, VOLBEAT, NIGHTRAGE, HATESPHERE, PYRAMAZE).
According to a press release, "the new incarnation of MERCENARY displays a
newfound musical focus, appetite and maturity, and while the material is now
heavier and faster, it still features the characteristic clean vocals, catchy
choruses and atmospheric keyboards and samples. (Keyboards provided by guest
musician Kim Olesen of ANUBIS GATE)."
MERCENARY in January announced the addition of drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (THE
ARCANE ORDER, SUBMISSION, SLUGS) to the group's ranks. The band has also
revealed that all lead vocals going forward will be handled by MERCENARY
bassist/vocalist René Pedersen following the departure of singer Mikkel
Sandager. The group says, "As everybody who has seen us live in the last couple
of years is fully aware of, René is a real powerhouse, and he has so much more
under his belt than he got to display on the previous album."
MERCENARY 2010 is:
Jakob Mølbjerg - Guitar
René Pedersen - Bass, Vocals
Martin Buus - Lead Guitar
Morten Løwe Sørensen - Drums
Upcoming MERCENARY shows:
Sep. 30 - The Rock - København, Denmark
Oct. 01 - Studenterhuset - Aalborg, Denmark

Are we gonna play Stonehenge tomorrow ?

MERCENARY, "Through Our Darkest Days"
Just as they stand unflinching in a surreal frozen sea of ice on their latest promotion picture, Scandinavian MERCENARY stand their ground musically as bold and confident as ever on their seventh album »Through Our Darkest Days«. After the roller coaster of loosing half their lineup in 2009 and presenting a renewed lineup and a new musical approach on 2011's »Metamorphosis«, MERCENARY's new album combines the strength of their latest approach with both a fresh sound and the grand melancholy and soaring clean vocals of past albums. The unusual mixture of elements from many genres within metal is in truth the band's biggest asset: an organic diversity bound together by tight songwriting and the ability to stand up to any sort of audience and make them lifetime MERCENARY followers.
“On »Metamorphosis« it was important for us to reinvent our sound and experiment rather than just trying to copying the sound of the old line-up. And we were really happy with the direction and the result. But with »Through Our Darkest Days« we felt that the right thing to do was to combine the new elements with more classic elements from Mercenary's older material, so it's only fair to say that the new album combines the best of both eras of the band.” René Pedersen
Again Mercenary decided to record with long time collaborator and Danish master producer Jacob Hansen in order to get the signature powerful and crystal clear production, and for the first time the cover artwork was done by MNEMIC guitar player Mircea Gabriel Eftemie.
The album will be out in Europe on July 26 via NoiseArt Records and is going to be available as limited digipak including bonus track.
„Through Our Darkest Days“ Tracklist:
1. A New Dawn
2. Welcome The Sickness
3. Through Our Darkest Days
4. Dreamstate Machine
5. A Moment Of Clarity
6. Beyond This Night
7. Starving Eyes
8. Generation Hate
9. Forever The Unknown
10. Holding On To Serenity (Bonustrack)

Contre toute attente j'aime beaucoup cet album!
