It’s been five years since US power metal act, Vicious Rumors, unleashed their most recent album. It’s also been five years during which band mastermind Geoff Thorpe and his crew played over 150 shows, presenting their long-standing career in condensed form and featuring set list of the Vicious Rumors classics. Those shows left their mark on the band members, while at the same time, causing them to release a burst of new energy.
Both factors culminate in their upcoming album, The Devil’s Asylum.
Band leader and founder Geoff Thorpe aptly summarizes things, saying, “The Devil’s Asylum sees us return to our roots, which we’ve combined with contemporary influences. Vicious Rumors look back at a career that spans 45 years, so there’s only one goal for us: Everything we do should always be significant, every show, every song, every new album. This band has always stood for maximum intensity, powerful music, and lots of new, fresh ideas.”
In this respect, The Devil’s Asylum couldn’t be more typical of Vicious Rumors, and at the same time, the album is bound to appeal to new fans.
Alongside Thorpe, there’s original member Larry Howe on drums and vocals, with long-time bassist Robin Utbult completing the core foundation of VR. After the songs were written, the addition of two new members has made the band chemistry rise to a new level! There’s vocalist Chalice and the second new member, guitarist Denver Cooper, who hails from Cape Coral in Florida, as does Chalice.

Pas mal du tout ce nouveau titre. Le chant passe bien pour moi, même si c'est un peu chiant qu'ils changent de chanteur à chaque album maintenant.
J'avais découvert ce dernier (Chalice, de son vra nom Brian Betterton) avec la compilation "reflections in time" du groupe Image Beyond qui est vendue au merch officiel du Keep it true depuis l'année dernière (mais le chant n'est en rien identique à celui produit sur ce titre)
