Le retour du groupe anglais en Février pour un nouvel album, avec un putain de line-up :

Escape Music/ AOR Heaven, are pleased to announce the signing of the British Melodic/ Hard Rock legends PHENOMENA.
The creator of the album no other than the mastermind himself Mr. Tom Galley. The new album title "Psycho Fantasy" will be released on the 10th February 2006 and includes performances by lead singers such as Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE/ HTP/ TRAPEZE), Tony Martin (ex-BLACK SABBATH) and Keith Murrell (MAMA’S BOYS/ AIR RACE) plus Mel Galley (WHITESNAKE/ TRAPEZE) and JJ Marsh (HTP/ GLENN HUGHES) on the six-string!

J'ai adoré l'album éponyme "Phenomena", avec notamment le morceau "Dance with the devil" et son "riff" au violon ! Les deux albums suivants, "Dream runner" et "Inner vision III", sont un peu moins inspirés, mais tiennent quand même la route. Suis-je le seul ici, avec le boss, à connaître ce groupe ?

Les 3 premiers Phenomena sont réédités dans un box set le 7 décembre :

Escape Music has announced the forthcoming release of a triple-CD digipack which combines the first three PHENOMENA albums. These three classic recordings include an all-star cast of musicians that include Glenn Hughes, Brian May, Ray Gillan, Scott Gorham and Don Airey, plus many others. All three albums are of the highest quality, and the re-mastered package will include six bonus tracks — three brand new songs and three re-recordings. A December 7 release is expected.

Nouvel album Blind Faith annoncé pour septembre, avec encore une fois Tony Martin dans le casting :

Escape Music has announced the release of much-anticipated new album from Tom Galley the creator of PHENOMENA, titled Blind Faith and due out on September 24th.

The album features countless renowned musicians like Mike DiMeo (RIOT, MASTERPLAN), Rob Moratti and Ian Crichton (SAGA), Tony Martin (BLACK SABBATH) Ralf Scheepers and Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR), Mikael Erlandsson (SALUTE and LAST AUTUMN'S DREAMS), Chris Ousey (HEARTLAND), Steve Overland (OVERLAND, FM), Terry Brock (GIANT, STRANGEWAYS) and many more.

A Phenomena press release reads as follows: People should learn to expect a little awe and mystery. Phenomena takes us upon a journey where there is nothing pretty about the protagonists of the story that we shall meet along the way. The subject is good against evil. The story began in the year 1983, when Tom Galley wrote a couple of short stories with a transcendental background. Backed by record label Bronze, the recordings for the album “Phenomena” started soon which finally hit the stores in 1985. Besides the extra-ordinary concept story both musicianship and the names involved with the project are highlights to mention. Names such as Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, Black Sabbath), drum legend Cozy Powell (RAINBOW, WHITESNAKE), Don Airey (Deep Purple), Neil Murray (Whitesnake) – the elite of the British Hard Rock scene had joined the project. Phenomena received high critical acclaim in the press and is now continuing their story with Blind Faith.

Les 3 premiers albums ont été à nouveau réédités.

Phenomena is a rock music concept conceived by record producer Tom Galley and brother, Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley and directed by Wilfried Rimensberger. Contributors were leading rock musicians such as: Brian May, John Wetton, Glenn Hughes, Don Airey, Mel Galley, Neil Murray and Cozy Powell amongst others.

Phenomena's production of rock songs based on a story line running through a whole album, attached to artworks and other multi-media aspects was credited for the “return of the concept album” in the 1980s. Phenomena released three albums in the 1980s and early 1990s, and had a number one hit single in South America with “Did It All For Love”, while the album charted across Europe, in Japan and Brazil.

The creator of Phenomena, Tom Galley, said of the re-releases: “I'm happy to see the release of these original recordings. And being in touch with the involved artists, I know they are looking forward to see this happening too. Together with previously never seen material the three albums are well presented.”

Une compile est sortie avec les titres chantés par Hugues :

Glenn Hughes sang lead vocals on 17 tracks for the Phenomena Project and all these tracks have been collected together on one Phenomena compilation named after the Hughes co-penned track “Still The Night”.

Phenomena is an all-star series of albums created by Tom Galley and this compilation also features: Cozy Powell, Mel Galley, Neil Murray, Ric Sanders, Ted McKenna, Michael Sturgis and Richard Bailey. The tracks are collected together from the million selling debut Phenomena album, Dream Runner and Psycho Fantasy.

As Tom Galley recalls of Glenn Hughes’s work with Phenomena “It did him a lot of good. He got a lot of attention for the performance he did for us”.

This compilation also features final mixes of the RARE tracks ‘Assassins in the Night’, ‘Running with the Pack’ and the 12” remix of ‘Still the Night’. The CD housed in an attractive 6 panel digipack with artwork by Iain Lowe.
