Hollywood , California - January 27, 2006 - Megadeth has teamed with Capitol Records/EMI Music Catalog Marketing to unleash Arsenal of Megadeth , a new comprehensive two-disc DVD collection available March 21. A visual career anthology containing 32 previously unreleased clips, Arsenal of Megadeth chronicles the rise and evolution of the band, providing fans with a heavy metal armory of music videos, interviews, home video shot by Megadeth's own Dave Mustaine and hidden tracks. Clocking in at almost three hours, Arsenal of Megadeth's tracklist was personally compiled by Mustaine, ensuring the ultimate head-hammering Megadeth experience.

Following the 2005 release of Megadeth's Greatest Hits: Back to the Start CD and deluxe CD/DVD collections of singles and fan favorites, Arsenal of Megadeth provides fans with the most in-depth look ever provided into the band's storied history. In addition to 20 of the band's music videos, Arsenal contains a bevy of career-spanning previously unreleased material, including behind the scenes audition footage, a 1995 band appearance on MTV's "Most Wanted," a clip of Dave Mustaine's guest appearance on "The Drew Carey Show," and concert footage from 2005's GIGANTOUR - essential cuts for every Megafan.

In 2005, Megadeth was the headbanging, headlining act of Dave Mustaine's GIGANTOUR, a tour founded on the principles of "fan-friendly" pricing and accessibility to the music. Mustaine's vision for GIGANTOUR was to "put together a festival that consisted of positive bands that play heavy music in a high energy environment." 2005's inaugural GIGANTOUR did just that and was an immense international success. Arsenal of Megadeth contains previously unreleased concert footage from the tour, including a live performance of Megadeth's metal anthem, "Peace Sells."

Megadeth was formed in 1983, and in the words of The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years director Penelope Spheeris, "[have] always been intelligent and uncompromising; they gave an entire generation a new perspective on our troubled world."

Megadeth members Dave Mustaine, Glen Drover (lead and rhythm guitar), James MacDonough (bass) and Shawn Drover (drums) keep themselves engaged with their fanbase by regularly posting to the official Megadeth website ( http://www.megadeth.com ). ça c'est du DVD indispensable!
Megadeth est un groupe qui m'a rarement déçu (sauf l'an dernier en concert et lorsque l'infame Risk est sorti), donc c'est un achat supplémentaire pour cette année, à coup sur!

Un double dvd retraçant l'histoire d'anthology (ils en font pas un oeu trop là

) de Megadeth.
Il y a en tout 3h comprenant des video et des lives inedits (32) et des interview.
Voila en gros c'est ça

En tout cas je pense que pour moi aussi ça fera un joli cadeau de mars cette affaire

Eh bé, qu'est ce qu'il faut pas entendre....

Tu as du l'avoir mauvaise alors en l'achetant le jour même de sa sortie

Pareil pour moi en tous cas, j'avais ecouté au casque cet album à Virgin, et une bonne mandale dans la tronche, achat direct...

Ouais j'ai ete déçu par countdown: trop heavy et pas assez trash, tempos trop lents, chansons trop simples (pour du megadeth). Bref un virage commercial trop evident.
Pendant des annees, cet album m'a gave (youthanasia j'en parle même pas).
Le truc c'est qu'on dirait qu'ils ont voulu suivre la même evolution que Metallica avec le black album, mais j'ai jamais eu l'impression que ca venait de Mustaine mais plutôt de sa maison de disque. d'où le baissage de froc.

Bon avec le recul, je trouve que c'est un tres bon album mais c'est un peu decevant pour du Megadeth.

Et tu voulais qu'il fassent quoi apres un "RIP" parfait ? Ils etaient allé au bout de leur tHrash, au bout du style.
Tu voulais donc qu'ils se repetent indefiniment ?
"Countdown" est en effet heavy. Mais un top du Heavy. Et pour le commercial, euh... j'en ai jamais entendu sur les ondes même à l'epoque ou y avait du Maiden ou du Metallica

"Risk" oui bien sur, il l'a jamais caché Mustaine.
