Bill was asked later what he thought of his playing these gigs, as they included several songs Sabbath did while Bill was not in the band. Bill apparently said that he had no problems at all playing other songs (like Cozy Powell's drum bits in 'Headless Cross'), but the only mistake that he made live was his own lines in songs like Iron Man & War Pigs. Pretty funny story.

Moi non plus.... mais ça par contre, faut pas y compter....

N'empeche que aucun titre de "7th star" et "Born again" n'ont été interprété par Black Sabbath apres la tournee 1986....

Glenn Hughes joue parfois des morceaux de seventh star sur ses tournées solo("No stranger to love " et "seventh star")

A representative for BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has confirmed that the highly anticipated and much-rumored reunion of Iommi, Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward appears to be shaping up and taking a new form. After various promoters have approached the former SABBATH bandmates' respective representatives, the guys have started taking all of this very seriously, as they have aparently wanted to reunite for some time now. It looks as if the new shape may be that of HEAVEN AND HELL — that is the moniker that the band is likely to use on their new venture. If all goes well, HEAVEN AND HELL should be hitting the road in early 2007.

Heaven & Hell in 2007 is "official" - UPDATED 10/26

A story going around today on Blabbermouth about the Iommi/Ward/Butler/Dio reunion as "Heaven & Hell" is claiming that a representative with Tony Iommi's camp has said that the reunion is "officially happening".

As you probably know, I work for both Bill Ward & Geezer Butler, as well as having my own connection to Iommi's people, and I have a good source (if not direct) to Dio as well. I will investigate this on my own.

Remember this. Nothing is "official" until you seen an announcement from one of the parties involved. Since that has not happened yet..... I wouldn't hold my breath. It may yet happen, but be careful when you read unverified stories claiming "official". Still, I've inquired on my own, and if I find anything out, I'll report back.

Let's just wait and see what happens. I'm with you all. Don't forget, I'm a fan of the band too, despite my connections, so I want to see this happen. But I've learned in doing this site to wait for honest, real, OFFICIAL announcements, and not to hang my hopes on Internet rumours.

One last word. These words appear at the end of the Blabbermouth story.. "If all goes well...". So even the Blabbermouth article which people are emailing me about throws out the possibility that it might not happen.

UPDATE: I was emailed back by someone in Iommi's camp saying that this news was posted on the Iommi forums last night here. Now whether or not this is a formal official confirmation, I can't say yet, as one of the others from one of the other camps wrote me back too and said that "it's still being discussed", so I'm not sure exactly what the heck is going on now.

UPDATE #2: I got written back again by Tony's people and said that it is an official announcement; it now also appears on Tony's site with this language:

UPDATE #3 - Wed 10/25 @ 11:00PM: Later in the afternoon on Wednesday, this text appeared on Ozzy's site:

Tony Iommi and Ronnie Dio are working on a project together which has nothing to do with Black Sabbath. There is only one Black Sabbath. Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill will be touring late next year along with new Black Sabbath album. However, Ozzy wishes Tony and Ronnie much success in their project together.
I have attempted to get some sort of confirmation of that. For me personally as a fan, the fact that we have never heard anything about new album/tour in 2007 from anyone, and the fact this "news" turns up in an small comment on Oz's site the same day as the H&H announcement seems highly suspicious. Now if it turns out to be true - so much the better. But the timing of the thing seems rather suspiciously like an attention grab. This is just the opinion of myself, I have no facts to back up that theory.

UPDATE #4 - Thu 10/26 @ 10:30AM: Last night the same press release text was added to Ronnie Dio's website, and this morning I was instructed by Gloria Butler to put it on Geezer Butler's website as well. However, Geezer's site has an additional piece of text that seems to imply that this is not a 100% signed, done deal... That text is:

Geezer would like it to be known that, although, it is looking likely, the last paragraph is there for a reason. There are still some unresolved issues; which, hopefully, will be sorted imminently
While I'm not privy to what these "issues" might be, my guess is that it's just legal contractual stuff. This all looks promising to me (the fan).

My last question about all this.... Is Geoff Nicholls involved?

ça se presente bien tout ça.... une tourné de heave"n and hell avec dio et un album de black sabb avec ozzy suivi d'une tournée si j'ai bien tout compris ce qui se disait....

y manque plus qu'un concert reunnissant tous les chanteur qui on chanté chez black sabet....

Mouais ben depuis le temps qu'il doivent sortir un album...
L'album de Black Sabbath, c'est comme le Yéti (ou la femme intelligente), tout le monde en parle, personne ne l' a vu.
J'espere au moins que ce sera un vrai album de groupe.parce que si ca ressemble aux 2 inédits du Reunion( du style on appelle ca Black sabbath mais en fait c'est des fonds de tirroir de Ozzy periode Ozzmosis....).
J'attend beaucoup plus de la nouvelle collaboration avec Dio.

+1 pour gaetan. le concert au filds of rock l'an dernier etait un pure moment de magie.

mais un concert avec dio ça dépote aussi...

moi j'ai même aimé les concert avec tony marteen....

C'est génial ouais mais ça me fait chier qu'un groupe comme ça ne fasse plus rien que d'autre que des appartitions en festival pendant 8 ans avec toujours la même setlist....et qu'a coté de cela Iommi soit bloqué par des contrats à la con qui l'empechent de tourner avec ses projets paralleles...
Je suis frustré que la tournée Fused ne se soit pas faite.
De même que je suis frustré que plus de 15 ans de la carriere du groupe soit endormie et qu'on essaie de faire passer pour une " déroute musicale".Ces albums doivent être assumés par tous.

Tous les vieux groupes continuent à sortir des albums.Pourquoi il n'ya aurait que sabbath qui se limiterait à cet espece de mythe intouchable ....dont on ne devrait se satisfaire que d'une setlist best of , toujours la même,balancée un printemps sur deux...

Complètement d'accord, Ozzy et Sharon plombent la carrière de Iommi avec les Ozzfests répétitives et prévisibles jusqu'à l'usure, alors qu'il a encore plein de musique en lui (ça se voit avec "Fused") à promouvoir. Il n'y a aucune raison qu'Iommi attende indéfiniment Ozzy qui n'aurait jamais eu l'opportunité de revenir dans le groupe si d'autres chanteurs n'avaient pas pris la relève (au hasard, Dio) après qu'il se soit fait virer. Alors au lieu de rabaisser dénigrer ses successeurs, les Osbournes feraient bien de s'acheter un peu d'humilité et de reconnaissance.

Car le communiqué du management Osbourne est vraiment à gerber d'arrogance, Black Sabbath c'est pas seulement 1968-1978, c'est aussi 1978-1996! Et ça en fait des années... et des putain de bons albums.

Bref, ce Heaven and Hell là..... C'EST Black Sabbath. Les 3 compositeurs principaux du groupe, dont LE leader, plus un ancien chanteur de Black Sabbath, qui jouent des chansons de Black Sabbath!
Si ce n'est pas Black Sabbath alors autant dire que Maiden sans DiAnno ce n'est pas Maiden, par exemple
