Je l'ai depuis quelques semaines déjà, et je confirme ce qui a été dit plus haut. Cet album de Dédé Matos est vraiment excellent! Une réussite

Je confirme, cet album est vraiment pas mal; ça reste du metal très très très "gay", mais c'est Dédé Matos, donc ça ne surprendra personne, et puis personnellement je trouve que c'est bien d'assumer sa part de féminité; j'éprouve donc bien du plaisir à écouter cet album, ça me donne la nostalgie des années 96-98, l'age d'or d'Angra, la sortie de Fireworks ,que j'avais acheté le jour de sa sortie au Virgin(en cassette ); on retrouve sur cet album ce petit plus qui rend Dédé inimitable,rafraichissant et original(tout en restant très "gay" ).

J'ai écouté en boucle les 2 albums de Shaman/Shaaman et je confirme : absolument rien à voir avec Reason ... autant l'un est d'une ambiance relativement sombre, autant l'autre est plein de vie ! un vrai régal pour les oreilles (d'aucun diront que mon avis n'est absolument pas impartial )

C'est bien dommage car Reason c'était autre chose que du heavy de base...du coup je vais faire l'impasse je pense, en tout cas je vais attendre de l'écouter chez Bib !

ouais, je ne suis pas sûr que tu y trouves ton compte !

En fait, c'est un peu du Angra light... On retrouve un peu l'ambiance des premiers Angra, mais en très simplifié, surtout la batterie (ça surprend de pas entendre Ricardo Confessori derrière Matos)... Les guitares (2 contrairement à Shaaaaman) sont sympa mais manquent un peu de folie parfois.
Pis surtout y'a trop de passages mous du gland !!

Enfin bref, ça s'écoute bien, mais ça transcende jamais selon moi...

Pas dispo à Houston, je viens donc juste de le choper ici en France, et c'est du tout bon! Effectivement pour les fans de Reason c'est pas trop ça, mais sinon pas de surprise pour les amateurs des vieux Angra et du Ritual de Shaman. Bravo Dédé et vivement la tournée!

D'après ce qui avait été dit dans l'emission de France Inter "Sous les étoiles" du 25 février ou avait été invité Andre Matos et Olivier Garnier, une tournée est possible en octobre de cette année. en tout cas, je l'attends également avec impatience !!!

Greece's Rockpages.gr recently conducted an interview with Brazilian singer André Matos (ex-ANGRA, SHAAMAN). During the chat, Matos was asked what he thinks life would have been like had he been selected to replace Bruce Dickinson in IRON MAIDEN back in 1994. "Yes… I have already asked myself this question," he replied. "And I thank God I wasn't the 'chosen one'… 'cause I wouldn't be here today. I don't know where I would be. Somewhere else or even nowhere on Earth. It's very important for me, honestly speaking, that it didn't happen. I was not psychologically prepared for such a thing… I wouldn't have the time to 'build' myself. I'm thankful that, due to this, I can walk today as a human being and as a musician."

Brazilian singer André Matos (ex-ANGRA, SHAAMAN) was one of several vocalists who were invited by the Orquesta de Cámara de la ULBRA (ULBRA Chamber Orchestra) to take part in the Clássicos do Rock II event on November 29, 2008 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Matos sang several numbers while accompanied by the orchestra, including IRON MAIDEN's "Fear of the Dark" and HELLOWEEN's "Eagle Fly Free". Komodorock.com recently spoke with ex-ANGRA / ex-SHAMAN vocalist Andre Matos. An excerpt from the interview is available below.

Q: Your solo album, Time To Be Free, in my opinion, captures the essence of the freedom that we all need to search for inside of ourselves. How would you best describe the strongest purpose of this album?

Matos: "That is the definition. Time To Be Free is about the inner freedom, which is quite difficult achieve I think. The oriental people know about this better than we do because sometimes you can't care about a situation that you are in and try to find your peace inside yourself, your freedom, especially, and we keep seeing people in this funny world that we live in nowadays where everything is changing so fast. I mean, I grew up in a different time when there was no internet and no cellphones and I have noticed how fast things are moving and also, how many people are actually looking for freedom somewhere else, it's all about money, buying stuff and I think sometimes they forget the basic essence of life. Music is still there and this is the main reason why I play music. Music is still a very powerful tool, a powerful weapon to wake the people up. This was my main purpose with this record, trying to, with the songs and the lyrics, to give people new ways to face life, to feel comfortable and to feel free inside."

Q: Is music your freedom?

Matos: "Music is absolutely my freedom. There is no better thing. When you're on stage, when you're composing, when you're recording, that's where you put your whole soul and I really mean to deliver it when I do it."

Q: I find it interesting that you say you find your freedom in music and whilst you're on stage, composing and recording because so many bands don't have that harmony or the balance and it seems that this is when everything goes wrong and you have constant fighting between the members.

Matos: "Yeah, that is bad. I've been there too. I've been through some split-ups before and I understand it perfectly. When there is no harmony between members you basically cannot create good music and this is one of the main reasons why I split up with my previous bands. Maybe VIPER, my very first band when I was a teenager was because I wanted to continue with musical studies and I didn't have the time to focus on both and I chose to go to university, but with Angra and Shaman it was basically a question of us not having a balance between the members and you cannot pretend that you're creating music. It sounds like crap and when you play live, people notice it, the audience is not stupid and they notice that something is going on and then it appears that bands is just doing it for the money or whatever reason, but this is not the way I live or think and I always try to get better and to be as honest as I can musically. I think that's why sometimes breaking up a band is better than keeping it in a forced situation."
