We feel very strong about the new songs, that very much are following the lines of 'Andromeda Unchained', although with a twist. There's a feeling that some of the newer songs will be heavier, leaning a bit towards the hard riffage from 'A Perfect Forever', as well as there are some new elements and surpising twists to 'the ANUBIS GATE sound.' Every one of us is anxious to get started!

Danish melodic progressive power metal band ANUBIS GATE will release its new album, "The Detached", on February 27 via Locomotive Records. According to a press release, the CD features "12 amazing songs" based on a story by renowned game play writer Martin Rauff and set to lyrics by ANUBIS GATE's own Henrik Fevre. The album, like its predecessor ("Andromeda Unchained"), was produced by Jacob Hansen and Kim Olesen, and sees the band "further developing its unique style of progressive power metal with new twists and turns, but as always with the songwriting taking the high seat."

C'est le plus sombre du lot. Denmark's ANUBIS GATE has inked a deal with Nightmare Records. The band has also parted ways with singer Jacob Hansen replaced him with Henrik Fevre.
Commented the group: "Nightmare Records is a label that we have had our eyes on for some time, but due to contractual obligations with our old label we haven't been able to join them before now. Needless to say, we are very excited about signing with Nightmare who we feel is the perfect home for our music. With a record label that really loves music (and those are few and far in-between) the future for ANUBIS GATE looks brighter than ever."
On the topic of the singer switch, ANUBIS GATE said, "With Jacob's ever-more-demanding schedule as a first-class producer, Jacob found it hard to have the time and keep his heart in the band. We fully respect his decision and reasons to leave and want to thank Jacob for being with us for an amazing couple of albums. We are still very good friends and Jacob is still involved in shaping the new album in his capacity as the best producer in metal. We wish Jacob nothing but the best in his future career."
"ANUBIS GATE has always been blessed with great singers. The decision to have Henrik take over vocal duties is a natural one for us. Henrik is the one that for a big part shaped the vocal melodies and lyrics of ANUBIS GATE and when Torben had to bow out of the gigs we did in support of 'A Perfect Forever' it was Henrik who sang those gigs. Henrik has also had several songs on our albums where he performed lead vocals. Most notably 'Take Me Home' on the 'Andromeda Unchained' album. So we knew beforehand it would work out great, which it certainly has."
President and founder of Nightmare Records Lance King had the following to say about working with ANUBIS GATE: "Being friends with Jacob Hansen because of our work together with PYRAMAZE and many other bands he's produced that are signed with Nightmare, my introduction to ANUBIS GATE was with him on vocals. I really enjoyed their sound and have been looking forward to working with the band for quite some time. I was concerned when Kim let me know Jacob wasn't moving forward with the band. However, I'm extremely impressed with the vocals of Henrik Fevre on the rough mixes, he has a unique sense of melody and powerful and talented voice and is the perfect choice for the band in replacing the gifted vocals of Jacob."
Stylistically Anubis Gate is conglomeration of the classic 80’s heavy metal, a more epic 90’s ambiance and a dark progressiveness of our days. You could describe is as metal with beautiful soundscapes, cool riffing, and a clear and powerful vocal performance.
Musical inspirations for Anubis Gate are such acts as Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Lord Bane, Tad Morose, Iced Earth, Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, King Crimson, Genesis & Savatage, but really Anubis Gate is in a niche of themselves.
The new album, titled simply ANUBIS GATE, is the most beautiful album the band has yet emerged with. The songwriting, which has always been the core of the ”Anubis Gate sound”, stands stronger than ever. This time emphasized by the fact that Henrik Fevre, who was largely responsible for writing the vocals on the previous albums, gets to sing the songs he wrote himself, injecting the emotion and meaning into the lyrics that he had in mind when writing them. Once again produced by Kim Olesen and Jacob Hansen and with a stunningly great mix done by the latter, this album brims with the twin guitar attack of Jesper M Jensen and Kim Olesens guitars, the rich emotion of Henrik Fevres voice, the rich soundscapes of Kim Olesens keyboard work and the dream rhythm section of Morten Sørensens drumming and Henrik Fevres bassplaying. Anubis Gate isn't an album that's about endless keyboard/guitar unison soloing. It's all about the songs. From the classic Anubis Gate opener “Hold Back Tommorow” to the melancholic, but very chrunchy, “The Re-formation show. From the fast aggressive “Desiderio Omnibus” to the epic “World In A Dome”. From the surprising “Oh My Precious Life” to the atmospheric “River” this album displays Anubis Gate at the top of their game while in no way rehashing the last two albums. Quite to the contrary this albums sees the band taking new turns whilst retaining the core of all the albums that came before.

"Jespers decision to leave the band to pursue other musical interests has been some time in the making, actually Jesper announced his leaving to the band 3 months ago, leaving us with good time to the difficult task of finding the right replacement. We feel it's important for everybody to know that Jespers exit has nothing to do with personal differences, in fact we are still the best of friends. Jesper simply found that now was the right time to try something new. We are of course sad that he is leaving but respect his decision and wish him nothing but the best. We are happy to announce Michael Bodin as Jespers replacement. We know Michael from his works with Third Eye and nineties progmetal band Northern Empire. He is a fantastic player who can contribute with very interesting material, in fact he is already writing great new stuff for the new album which we expect out late 2013. We are looking very much forward to presenting the new lineup for you both on stage and on record."
Danish melodic progressive power metal band ANUBIS GATE has parted ways with drummer Morten Sørensen and has replaced him with Morten Gade Sørensen (PYRAMAZE, WUTHERING HEIGHTS).
After careful consideration and five albums behind the drums, Morten Sørensen felt it was time to get off the bandwagon to pursue other musical interests. ANUBIS GATE states: "We would like to say that this is a peaceful parting of the ways and that we are still good friends. We are, of course, sad to see Morten Sørensen go but also excited to have another one of Denmark's very finest drummers to join the band."
Morten Gade Sørensen (pictured below), known for his excellent drumming in bands such as PYRAMAZE, WUTHERING HEIGHTS and LANCE KING, comments on joining ANUBIS GATE: "I've been following ANUBIS GATE since they started and being a big fan of their universe it's an honor for me to be asked to join. I'm looking forward to working on the bands new material."

Le premier titre "Destined to Remember" est un avant-goût de ce qui figurera sur le nouvel album du groupe, "Horizons" qui sera disponible en 2014 (et non en fin d'année comme précédemment annoncé). Les deux autres morceaux sont des reprises de Pink Floyd et Mr. Mister.

"Hi everybody. As most of you know we have been working on our next effort called HORIZONS for the last two years. But, as some of you also know, we are insane perfectionists, so we didn’t quite meet the deadline for a 2013 release, which was our plan otherwise. When we recorded HORIZONS we had these three tracks that we didn’t quite know what to do with. A slightly different version of DESTINED TO REMEMBER (the other version will be on the HORIZONS album), A cover of the epic PINK FLOYD track SHEEP (from their magnificent Animals album) and a cover of BROKEN WINGS originally by Mr. Mister. BROKEN WINGS was actually a fan request, which we thought “oh, that’s a great idea”. So while you are all waiting patiently untill early 2014 for the HORIZONS album to be released, this is a little present from us to you. We hope you enjoy it.

The sixth album from Danish prog metal outfit Anubis Gate will be titled "Horizons" and is due for release on Nightmare Records (distributed by Sony/RED) this coming April 15th, 2014. The label comments:
"Anubis Gate hit the studio the summer of 2013 recording new opus 'Horizons,' which is unmistakably Anubis Gate’s sound yet goes again to new places. Places perhaps one would call daring.
"New guitarist Michael Bodin’s heavy riffing works exceptionally well in a duel with long time guitarist Kim Olesen. The forward driving drums, courtesy of new drummer Morten Gade Sørensen, are a treat in themselves. Henrik Fevres melodic vocals are even more amazing and heartfelt than ever before. 'Horizons' showcases the band on it’s highest peak."
